1.) So what is the motive behind sending National Guard troops from every state in the union and Puerto Rico to Washington DC? What does this symbolize?
2.) Why is the FBI screening all 25,000 troops in DC for signs of radicalization out of concern for an "insider attack"? 3.) Congressman Cohen (D-Tenn) said this: "The National Guard is 90 some-odd percent male; and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden, you've got to figure the guard is more conservative... there are probably not more than 25% of the people that are there protecting us that voted for Biden," Cohen said. "The other 75% are in the class.. who might want to do something." That comment on MLK Day, no less. Is this not pure racism? |

We've never been truly "unified" in America. Right from the very beginning of this country, mistrust and a rugged individualism was the underlying foundational motive the Articles of Confederation, and later on the Federalist Papers and the Constitution. What made this most challenging was the states demand for sovereignty and the first foundational document that laid out "enumerated powers", that limited the power of the federal government. Because of the division between the most populated versus the lesser populated states, a very bitter feud broke out, with the eventual result being the "Great Compromise of 1787". That was the very foundation of our form of government, including the equal representation of states in the senate, and the proportional representation, by population, in the House. It's also the basis for our Electoral College. From then until the present, this country has not been unified...not entirely. We were close during WWII and the Gulf War, but even then there were divisions and dissent. There were periods of deep division, obviously...the Civil War, the 60's, and now. This is different, in my opinion. Free speech is being squelched and censored. Dissent is being criminalized. Words like "de-programming", "re-imagining", and "re-education" are becoming part of the daily discussion.
You'll never find more "unity" than the kind you see under authoritarian regimes. Uniform submission to these regimes is the sinequanone to authoritarian/totalitarian regimes where individual freedom is held as completely subordinate to the power or authority of the state, centered either in a small group (in our case, select wealthy oligarchs) that is not constitutionally accountable to the people.
Joe Biden's pledge to "bring unity" might be the most honest promise he's ever made......only we aren't going to like it, I'm afraid. |
