My feedstore has started carrying Zesterra products. I've heard excellent things about it. I went ahead and ordered a 30lb tub to help her out with an order. So will the horse just stand there and devour these things or can I just let him have at it free choice?

My horses had no interest whatsoever in the tub.  Six chow hounds just walked away from it.  Finally took it down and gave it to someone else to try.

I use the zestera before a run and have been thinking about getting a tub also.  How high priced are they?

The 125 lb tub gos for 125.00 at NRS, the 50lb 70.00 and the 30lb for 45.00, this is what I found..

So I'm guessing most of the tubs will be sold for around the amount I posted, at least it gives you an ideal of the price range.

I use Zesterra -- not really hauling right now though.

My filly had pigeon fever last year. I gave her 10cc's and within 2 days the abscess popped.  Then a few weeks ago she had a hoof abscess. Gave her 10 cc's and it blew 2 days later. I dunno. Maybe its a coicindence. But I really think it helps booster their immune. I also like to give it as a preventative. . with big weather changes, stress, hauling, etc.

I love the tubs but I had to get the 60lb ones so that I could put the lids that come on them back on as all 4 of mine inhaled the first ones I put out.  I'd put the lid on them at night and then take it off in the morning and even that way they still went thru thier 60lb tub in about 20 days.  And each horse has their own tub in thier own turnout. I did that 3 times thinking maybe once they would slow down on the consumption rate...nope!

I went back to the liquid .

I have zesterra on hand to use and have bought the tub once.  Sent a mare off to be bred last spring and she wasn't adjusting well.  Purchased zesterra tub for her in that situation and it helped.  She finished it off, no problem...think it lasted 2, maybe 3 weeks.

I'm getting the 30lb for $48 .... I couldn't imagine what the shipping would be on those bad boys! There had been a few lick tubs I've wanted to try but always didn't because the shipping would be outrageous. Well,  I'll be curious to see what my horse does with it.

A good friend of ours is a rep for them and we use it/feed the tubs to both our horses and cattle. He said that they will usually go through the first one quickly, because they are usually deficient in some of it, and then taper off after that. From our experience, this has been the case with both the cattle and horses. All our horses out in the pasture lick on it. I had a stalled horse not want it once but that is 1 out of probaby 30 horses we have fed it to.

Boy these tubs sure are not cheap, you would think since they are kinda pricey the horses would really love and attack these tubs..

Mine probably won't... he likes to waste my money more than I do, I think.

I've fed them in the past but my girls ate them so fast, it added up quick!!! I feed horselic tubs now. I do want to get some of the small tubs to leave in the mangers of my trailer when we haul.
