It's happened every February for two years now.  I think we should have an impeachment every February starting the week after the Super Bowl.  Make it pay-per-view and give the proceeds to St Jude's Hospital for childhood cancer.  They can have little impeachment quarterfinals and semifinals, kinda like "The American".  Make those pay-per-view as well.  One year out of four they impeach the president.  Another year for impeachment of a sh!tty governor like Cuomo or Newsome.  The remaining two years for Congress.  Every 4 years have the 4 impeached public servants appear before a board of judges and have the public vote as well.  They tally the votes in real time like on "America's Got Talent".  The winner gets to be boiled in oil on live TV.
Why not?  The Democrats are on board. At least it will be a worthy cause....unlike this waste of time.

Yeah, I turned it on and found it fascinating. The previously un-aired security camera footage from inside and just outside the Capitol was heart-stopping. Those Capitol police were incredibly brave, as were the legislators from both sides who had to take cover, and then evasive actions. I got caught up in the trial for a couple hours. When they took a dinner break, I went out and rode. 

I'm from North Texas, not Austin.

If you listen to the Obamunists, America will never be the same after the deadly Jan 6 "insurrection".  Chuck Schumer compared Jan 6 to Pearl Harbor.  CNN said it was very much like the Rwandan genocide, where nearly 1 million were butchered and killed and hundreds of thousands of women brutally raped.  Punishing Trump is just the beginning.  These loonies are just beginning the process of "re-ordering" society.  They have fortified the Capitol with walls, razor wire, and two heavily armed divisions. 
Of the 5 people who lost their lives during this "deadly" insurrection, 4 were Trump protestors.  The fifth was a police officer who was reportedly also a Trump supporter. One died from a stroke.  He was a bus driver who wasn't even near the site.  He had his stroke while waiting to drive protestors away from the Capitol.  One had a history of cardiovascular disease and had a heart attack. The woman who was shot in the face and killed was unarmed.  The results of the investigation into that shooting by the police officer have not been released, but we have been assured that this unarmed, veteran, white, mother of three was a clear and present danger as she was climbing through the broken window.  I fully expect the officer who killed her will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Biden....that is IF his identity is ever revealed.  I have a suspicion his identity would be revealed if it turned out that the officer was white and the veteran woman was black.....but since she was white, that won't happen, because...."White Privilege", you know.   They described this as an "armed insurrection", yet there are no reports of any weapons being used by the rioters.  Congressman Cicillini, D-RI, previously an attorney for the Mafia, assures us that this was nonetheless an "armed insurrection".  They claim that the police officer who lost his life was bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher.  His remains were laying in state as politicians streamed there to pay their last respects as a tribute to his service and bravery.  Many of these same hypocritical bastards were the same oily insurrectionists and provocateurs who literally encouraged the deadly riots in Democrat cities where billions in property was left in ashes, police precincts were forcefully occupied, and hundreds of police officers were wounded, some fatally.  That same officer who died during the riot honored by these hypocrites....purely because his tragic death served their political agenda.  Finally they had a cop to whom they could show their respect.  The rest in cities MInneapolis, Portland, Kenosha, and Seattle?  They needed to be dismantled and "defunded".  Our current Vice President literally said on National TV that the BLM organized riots would not stop, "NOR SHOULD THEY!"  There are absolutely no consequences for her provocative words of encouragement.  In point of fact, there is no evidence whatsoever that the police officer, Brian Sicknick, who died during the riot succumbed to any injury.  There is no evidence that he sustained a lethal blow to the head from a fire extinguisher.  In fact, hours after the riot was quelled, the officer sent a text to his brother saying he had been pepper sprayed but that he was fine.  The head of the Capitol police union said the officer died of a stroke.  Apparently there was an autopsy, but they have refused to release the findings.  His body was cremated immediately following the autopsy....so we may never know.  
As to the uprising itself, we have two theories.  One was that Trump provoked this violent insurrection on Jan 6 when he addressed the protestors and told them to "peacefully and patriotically" protest.  The other version was that the insurrection was planned in advance, according to the WaPo, no less.  Which version is accurate?  We don't know.  
We do know that Democrat supported groups like BLM and Antifa are experienced at contriving pretenses for violent riots.  George Floyd's death was the flashpoint they used last summer.  He died of a Fentanyl overdose, according to autopsy reports. 

In my opinion, all of this only proves that they are scared stiff of Trump and his supporters.  Trump embarrassed the establishment.  He must be destroyed and his 75 million supporters must be de-programmed, censored, and silenced.

Ashli Babbitt was among dozens clamboring at that doorway. Just on the other side of the door were legislators. The rioters were yelling "hang Pence," among other things. As a group, they were not peaceful. They were moving to come through that door they'd broken and that police officer drew his weapon and clearly indicated to them to stop. He is sworn to protect the lives of the elected lawmakers who were just behind him, vulnerable to harm. Ashli Babbitt and the surging crowd continued to advance. That's why she was shot. 

You don't have to take my word for it. Here's what State Rep. Markwayne Mullin, a Republican out of Oklahoma had to say:

"The mob was going to come through the door, there was a lot of members and staff that were in danger at the time. And when he [drew] his weapon, that's a decision that's very hard for anyone to make, and, once you draw your weapon like that, you have to defend yourself with deadly force." 

Mullin said police "showed a lot of restraint" and "did the best they could."

Yes, that's the version we've been presented with.  What do you suppose would have happened had she been black?  I'll rephrase it another way.  Suppose an unarmed black woman was fatally shot while breaking down the door to get into a church or a police precinct station in MInneapolis?  Would that officer be hailed as a hero?  You know dam well there would be calls to prosecute for murder.  

But she wasn't black....... a black person probably wouldn't have been able to get that close.  I thought what was presented in the impeachment hearings was pretty plain, even a 3rd grader could have understood.  Hillary answered questions for over 8 hours on Benghazi and we spent way more money and time investigating.  I think insisting you won and storming the capital deserves the time.  If he hadn't spent so much time at rallies and calling elected officials and acting like a mob boss we wouldn't be in the shape we are in with the pandemic.  I guess he never really said which April it was going to go away in.  Some of you are crazy. (Judging by the crazy conspiracy theories and not many really watch or read news) When you lose do you storm the entry booth and insist you won?  What do you teach your kids?  I don't think many of you are going to win any sportsmanship awards.

Yes, that is the version we were presented with: eyewitness accounts, cell phone video from the rioters side, and security footage from the interior and exterior of the Capitol complex. Rationally, the version that we've been presented is the actuallity of what happened. 

Your question about an unarmed black woman shot while breaking down the door of a church or precinct is an apples and oranges comparison. An unarmed black woman in a mob of people menacing and advancing on those in the church or precinct station might get shot. There might be heroism involved. I don't know, it's a made up deal. 

What happened to Ashli Babbitt isn't made up. Her blood is on Trump's hands.

OK, so let's discuss this like two friends having a civil disagreement over a cup of coffee.

Here's the point I'm trying to make.  See if you don't agree.  I'll use your own description of the actual event leading to Ashli's death and substitute a few key elements. Let's say a black woman named Ashli, a mother, wife, and veteran of the Iraq war, is at a BLM rally in MInneapolis and things quickly de-escalate into a violent riot. She is wearing a BLM cap and shirt. Property is destroyed and there is looting and burning.  The mob moves down the street chanting "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon".  They come upon a police station and break through the fence.  Police are trapped inside, and Ashli is among those at the front of the mob clamoring toward precinct station.  Rocks are thrown through the windows.  They try to break down the door, but only manage to break a window next to the door.  Ashli, who is unarmed, begins climbing through the broken window.  Fearing for his life and the lives of his fellow law enforcement officers, sworn to uphold the law, an officer draws his weapon and tells Ashli to stop, but she keeps climbing through the window.  She is unarmed but the officer views her as a threat.  The officer shoots her in the face from about 5-6 feet away, instantly killing her. Eventually, the crowd is dispersed and a couple are arrested.  We are left with an unarmed black woman who was a war veteran, a wife, and mother.....shot dead at point blank by a police officer.  What do you suppose the fallout would be?  I submit something along the lines of "systemic racism"....."murder of a black woman by a racist cop".  They would not say the officer was simply doing what he was trained to do, unless they wanted to claim that the cops are trained to be "racist".  The calls to dismantle and defund the police would be amplified.  There would most certainly be calls to arrest the officer and indict him on first degree murder charges.
Two virtually identical scenarios.  The only difference being the skin color of the victim and how the law enforcement officer is treated.  One is hailed as a hero and defender.  The other a murderer.  
To those who want to see this country destroyed from within, they couldn't care less about any of this.  All they care about is continuing to promote deep division, hate, strife, and civil war.  

I know you are wanting a fight.  However if this is what we are discussing over coffee.  I think the black woman deserves to be shot just like white woman was.  If you do the crime you should pay.  I'm not against the death penalty or shooting someone in the act of a crime.  I do wonder why they need to shoot them sometimes 17+ times or in the back, just seems like over kill and IMO makes them look bad.

In your scenario, no, I don't think a white officer would be prosecuted for shooting the hypothetical black woman, in the scene and parameters you laid out. I don't. It's a little similar to the shooting death of Breonna Taylor. Those officers, in the course of carrying out their duties, were shot at by Taylor's startled boyfriend, and the officers shot in defense, killing Taylor. (The chief difference of course, is that Taylor was a victim, and was non-threatening and not the subject of their interest.)

No not looking for a fight at all.  I like discussions over coffee, on many different topics.  Hard to learn much from people when you all agree on everything just turns into a rally against the oppositon.  I must say it has given me an education on why so many feel the way they do.  I never said I know everything I am old and learn something everyday.  I do not make my husband listen to it, he is working but he does listen to it on the radio most days.  That poor tortured husband of mine will be taking me to the beach next week to escape a snowstorm, a gift to us for 42 years of putting up with each other.  I won't have to worry about social distancing it's just us and 2 dogs.  One is a puppy he says he's not walking at 3 am.  This will be fun.

I really wasn't till someone like you ............should I call you a "Busy Body Know It All" decided to give people ideas.  However I think I will be OK my son lives really close, I have an alarm system, 2 really big bad dogs and a Trump supporter next door who watches the house, he would love to catch someone.  However I thank you for being so concerned.  I was really more concerned about the animals I have to leave at home in horrible weather.

It's the left who gets riled up by "systemic, corrupt, racist law enforcement", not me.  That was the underlying excuse used for the deadly riots, burning, and looting through Democrat run urban areas. Left wing racism is real.  The Democrat party, in fact, is historically the racist party of Jim Crow, segregation, racism, and the KKK.  Much of that same left wing racism is still present today, except it is cleverly cloaked.  

I'll be sure to mention this to the Trump guy in the next town over - the house with the anti-Biden signs strung on his home all year. He flew to DC specifically for the January 6 Trump rally, and was there for the events that followed. He sure will be surprised to know that he's either from the BLM or antifa.

Just to prove, conclusively, how crooked and deceptive these lying bastards are, they omitted the most critical words in the video of Trump speaking to the protestors on Jan 6th...."peacefully and patriotically".  Not only are they oily scum sucking liars, they are incredibly dumb to think nobody would pick up on their tainted evidence. They'll get away with it, just like Brennan, Comey, and Clapper got away with perjury. They won't even worry about consequences of their deception.  Use of "fruits of the poisonous tree", to use legal parlance, is a routine tool for those swine.  They knew they wouldn't get a conviction, but they tried to stretch it out and milk it for as much as they could get.  Anything to distract from the messes cropping up across the fruited plain. 

...and one guy who would have loved to see this travesty stretch out for months is the man who murdered thousands of nursing home patients.  Anything to keep the focus off.

Cuomo is in a world of hurt right now.  He was this slick talking greaseball who won an Emmy for his news conferences.  Now the news has leaked out that the governor hid the numbers of actual deaths that were a consequence of his forcing elderly with known Covid19 into nursing homes.  He whined and pleaded to Trump for help with hospital bed shortages and anticipated shortages of ventilators.  Trump promptly came to New York's rescue by converting the Javits Convention Center into a 2000 bed hospital, and having a hospital ship retrofitted into a 2000 bed Covid treatment hospital within 10 days and positioned in New York harbor.  Cuomo still whined about anticipated need of ventilators, so Trump used the War Powers act to get tens of thousands of ventilators made in record time.  We never did even come close to running out of ventilators, it turned out.  Cuomo had to choice but to heap praise on the President.  Even DiBlasio praised and thanked Trump.  In spite of the federal government's response, Cuomo elected not to use thousands of empty beds for those Covid infected elderly....sending them to die in nursing homes and spread Covid to kill thousands more.  While he was doing this, brothers Andrew and Chris were heaping praise on one another on national TV.  Democrats were calling for Cuomo to run for President in early 2020.  They swooned at his press conferences because of his eloquent deceptive lies.  In spite of Trump's help, Cuomo turned on him and blamed him for the deaths.  He only used a couple hundred of the beds Trump delivered to NY.  New York is basically a ghost town now.  Even Democrats are turning on Cuomo, especially with the revelations that he kept the real numbers about the nursing homes hidden.

...and the morons will continue to elect societal misfits like AOC and Cuomo. It's in their DNA.
