I've been watching the Royal Crown Futurity live stream on FB and it got me thinking. How much does it cost to Futurity a horse from after the colt breaker is done and it's sent to the Futurity trainer? From start to finish including entry fees, training, etc in that horses Futurity career? Just curious and how do people afford it? Is owning a Futurity horse a rich mans game?

I would say if their not expecting to spend anywhere from $50k on up their not being realistic. With all of the incentives and nominations, entry fees, training fees, cost of raising or buying prospect, hauling expenses, vet and farrier. I'm sure most of them are taking out personal loans, or seconds on their mortgages. And of course there is no guarantee, with anything involving horses except that we love them and they are eating machines!
That's what I thought. That's awesome some people can do that and I really love watching the pros run them. Definitely not a game I can get into! But I can dream!!! ??
