I know I'm old but I miss the days when cash was king. Venmo isn't hard to use but now I'm hearing of both Venmo and Paypal holding people's winnings because they are considering payouts for a barrel race as business earnings so these folks are having to either pay them the business fee or wait for who knows how long for the dispute to settle.
We have a couple of producers near us who will not even accept cash any more.
How are these things working out at local races for the rest of you?

A lot of the local jackpots in my area have gone to having paypal or venmo or whatever the hip kids use now days as an option, but still able to pay cash on site.

One producer in my area has been doing this since last year mainly due to the pandemic. You have to text in to enter (or be charged a $10 add on fee the day of) and pay via paypal annd of course the winnings are paid out that way. To my knowledge there have not been any issues getting the money. I think she does it all thru Friends and Family.

I think the pandemic has caused some of this, if you text to enter and pay with venmo or paypayl there is no contact. I don't love it but I think that is the main cause.
I did go to a jackpot Saturday, I paid with venmo and they paid out in cash. It was nice to have my winnings right there and not have to wait on a check.
