Anyone use these !?!  Just bought a couple today. They seem a little heavy. The ones I got are Lycra. If you use them , how do you like them ? Thanks.

I use one on occasion... I really like this Cactus tail braid in the best.. its soft, light and keeps the tail clean.. plus it doesn't sound like he's whipping himself or clobbering himself when he swishes his tail!

I love them.   I've grown out a lot of tails in them, including the illusive Appaloosa tail.

My recommendation for them is to get a coat hanger and cut it at the hanger and about 1/2 way down the center so that you have a nice U shaped loop.

Thread your tailbag sleeve over the U.   Put the section of tail through the U and then pull the tail through the tailbag sleeve.

You can thread the trailbag over your fingers, but unless they are fairly long fingers, it gets to be a giant pain.

so, I’ve used these in the past with good results...but someone pointed something out to me that I’d never thought of...If they get it hung they could hurt themselves or rip their tail off before it gives because it’s braided through....never had this happen...then last yr I saw my gelding hang his tail bag on a post swishing flies and it got hung....it was a Velcro bag type though...the Velcro broke and he was free....just food for thought, i know the guys can hurt themselves millions of ways

Yes they can find a way lol! I will only use my tail bag when he's in the stall or his run... not a whole lot to get snagged on in there but when turned out in the big pasture ... no way!
