Ours in my part of Kansas just went from $2.59 to $2.69 a gallon for regular.  Diesel $2.95.

With Biden seeking to shut down the fossil fuel industry this could get to be very rough on our pocketbooks.

I hav'nt payed much attention latley to the prices, we have a 500 gallon diesel tank out in the back thats got about 300 gallons in it now so have not been buying diesel latley. What year was it that gas prices hit super high? Seems like it hit above 4 dollars are more in certain areas here in Texas.

$2.42/gal here. Just filled up. About what I was paying the first 2 years of pumpinhead's term. But I didn't think to blame pumpkinhead for that. Who knew?

In 2006 I was paying about $4.40/gal. The most I've paid in my life. Again, I didn't think to blame W for it.

These ready made excuses for every problem sure can come in handy.

To fill up our Ford F250 would cost over $100 and like most trucks gets not-so-great mileage.  No wonder California is moving to Texas, Tennessee and Florida.

i had to admit it but i have not driven anywhere since feb   but i work at home and no horses any more  however i do dispatch about 100 trucks a week

so fuel surcharge  which is  national ave goes straight to truck

2021  april 19  .34 per mile

2020  april  19  .23  per mile

2019   april   ..34  i was surprised

again this fuel surcharge is based on the national ave

Well it seems you have changed the post, since I laughed at it.  I really want to know when gas prices hit $7.00 a gallon like you posted?  I also noticed while checking it was higher under Bush than Obama.  I guess you didn't check before you posted the Fake News you like to spread.

I don't like high gas prices any more than you.  However I have bigger issues with the tax breaks and CEO bonuses they hand out.  Many of you think that's just fine, free market and all.  It's not if your tax dollars are given to them.  All representatives should be like Katie Porter.

In mid-MO Lowest price near me is $2.44, but most places run 2.59-2.69 for the "cheap" gas. It cost me $75 to put less than 3/4 of a tank in my truck a few weeks ago and I cringe at the idea of filling it up again.

100100

I paid $2.84 yesterday.

On average historically speaking fuel prices were higher when we had a democrat POTUS.  POTUS does not have much influence over fuel prices but even Forbes admitted that Trump had more influence over lower fuel cost than Bush, Obama when fuel was at the lowest under them. Obama's saving grace was Woodrow Wilson, otherwise the highest gas prices since at one point were under Obama.  Also Bush had several influences during his term that affected gas prices, Katrina, 9/11, GHG emmissions regulations, Iraq war, etc.

Overall supply and demand drive fuel prices for the most part.  During Covid the demand was low and now that we are re-opening the demand is up.

(Edited to add, I meant to quote Palopony, so here this is for you Palopony)

I changed my post when I asked my husband where it was that we payed that 7 dollars for gas back when Obamo first came into office or when he was running for office, he reminded me it was when we were going to see my parents in Carrizo Springs, we stoped in the little town of Crystal City to fill up and it was 7 {something} for gas there so we thought better get it now befor we get to Carrizo because it will be more expensive there. LOL, the gas in Carrizo was way less there {it was only 5 something} . Come to find out that weekend the convenience store where we got the 7 dollar gas in Crystal City got busted for price gouging the gas. This is why I changed my post because I knew it was not right and didnt want to spread the Fake News you say I spread.

I apologize if I upset you about the gas price and bringing up Obamo's name, I didnt say anything about it being his fault that gas got up high just using his name as a time frame. So sorry if I hurt your feelings over this post..

I did a quick check when I went to lunch a few minutes ago - regular unleaded was 2.59 and diesel was 2.71.  I'm sure it fluctuates a few cents either way but this is what I noticed at one store, for the purpose of this post acutually, LOL

I fuel at the same store all the time and don't really pay much attention because I have to fill up no matter how much it cost...

Biden shutting down the Keystone and banning fracking on federal land, not to mention going after the coal industry, is going to have serious repercussions both in home heating and at the pump.  The more truckers have to pay for diesel the more costs are going to have to be handed down to the consumer.  We're already seeing this at the grocery store.

For those who feel climate change is an "existential threat", they need to understand something.  Under Trump, we led the world in natural gas production, and that's because of fracking.  Our use of natural gas and our natural gas exports rose sharply.  We live on an ocean of natural gas, especially here in Texas.  Natural gas power plants are much cheaper to build.  Even environmentalists concede that natural gas is environmentally friendly.  Democrats hate it because it renders wind turbines obsolete and screws up their agenda. Personally, I'm not convinced that man's activities has any significant impact on our climate.

I once proofread for an oil and gas magazine and remember an article telling about the early days of oil production in Texas and how drillers would burn off natural gas to clear a path to the crude.  The U.S. is relatively clean as far as taking care of the earth.  Countries like China and India have no respect.  AOC needs to go flap her jaw at them.

If it really was about climate change more emphasis would be placed on the biggest polluters in the world to begin making changes.  That is not happening.

Russia, China and India are the major polluters.  The U.S. is relatively clean compared to them.  The climate change agenda is all about procuring bucks to channel to Dem programs that have little to do with the climate.  Nancy Pelosi's hubby put major bucks into Tesla.......just an example.
