Wanting to get some opinions on this qualifier race for Calgary. The deal is they will take up to 400 entries, can run multiple horses, Entry Fee $500. Long go, progressive, and short go. They will not be using the entry fee money for payout, and will not announce what the payout for the race will be until entries are closed. I am SO on the fence....

The other thing is it's being run at a different rodeo grounds; one with excellent dirt, but a bowling alley set up with barrels close to the fence. Completely different than Calgary.

Thoughts?

I think it's an awesome idea and great opportunity for some Canadian girls to actually run at Calgary. The stampede is set up for American contestants to get in. Every year there are only 3-4 Canadians running. So if this gives the Canadian girls a shot at going I say yay. I'm not in this caliber or level to compete but if I had a horse that was running tough I'd enter. I'm not sure the Venue should be an issue, a horse capable of running at Calgary should be able to run anywhere.
