Who can explain it to me? Pros? Cons?
You might need to be more brand specific b/c there are a lot of differences out there between brands. By happenstance, I have three saddles by Circle Y that are their Flex2. I use the Regular tree on 3 of my horses and the Wide tree on 1 of them. All have beautiful even sweat marks with no dry spots. I will say that I use the Lisa Lockhart / Badlands / Sarah Rose saddle on mine. (Same tree - just the endorsee name has changed over the years). I tried a Kelly Kaminski one time for a horse and it did not fit the same as the Lisa, but there are a few differences in degrees on the tree. And my mom uses a regular tree on her horse, and same thing - fits great and even sweat marks. But my mom has a Kenny Harlow, which I believe has slight differences in the tree measurements. I sure wish their leather quality was better and what it used to be, but dang that Flex2 fits a wide variety of horses. Pretty impressed. But also know it's not a "true" flex tree. It's more of a hybrid. Only the very front and back of the tree can flex. The main middle part is solid. Here's a video. |
