I have found myself in a situation I have never been in before.  I recently applied for a loan and thought my credit score looked a little lower than what it should have been.  I noticed on my new checking account i could pull a report and I have found that frontier had listed a chargeoff on my credit score.   So this is a bill that i should have never been charged for and instead of them conceeding they were wrong they have filed it as a collection/chargeoff which is totally wrong!  Now Im really furious with them!

But i digress.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this off my credit score?

You directly report it to the credit bureaus, that there is an error on your record. It's a pain, but it can be done.

Start by going to annualcreditreport.com  It is free and then you can dispute the item.  A dispute then requires the company review it.  If they fail to do so, it falls off.  If they review it and decide it is still legitimate it is probably easiest to just pay it.  Once paid your score will improve but it still wont be removed for about 7 years.  Each year it will have less impact on the score.
