I'm going to have a rinoplasty done on my nose has anyone had it done? How long before you could ride? I know ask your doctor but seriously my Dr has no concept of what we actually do.

I had sinuplasty done with repair of a deviated septum in Jan 2017. I think I started back light riding after about 5-7 days. There was minimal pain for me after the procedure, but I had been told I would feel tired. And I DID! I felt run down for about a week. It took about 3 months before the tenderness to touching my septum was better. So be careful if you have young horses or higher strung horses. I think I was back to competing in about 4-6 weeks. Hope all goes well!

You might consider showing the surgeon / doctor a video of what you actually do riding.  I found when I had a surgery (shoulder but still surgery) showing my surgeon what I actually did prior and explaining that I would not accept anything less than prior competitiveness following recovery....it helped him to understand what we do.  Realizing the procedures are completely different.  I still say it will help them help you with recovery concerns and suggestions that are specific to your lifestyle.  The doctor might be pleased with your input, concerns and desire to facilitate helping him to give you the best results.
