| Jordan and Rollo has such a beautiful pattern and it was fast! Hailey bout gave me heart palpitations rocking 2 barrels a little. I think Lisa and Cutter will only get faster, too. Sure hated to see Nellie and Sister hit. It was a great start to the NFR! Also, for y'all staying on Fremont Street and anyone goinfo to watch the Jr NFR and barrel races at the the Plaza, they have some really really nice shopping on the ground floor. One of a kind turquoise jewelry, Elite custom saddles (several of the NFR breakaway girls ride in them) and other artisan shops are there. Unfortunately, the advertising wasn't great for the Plaza shopping, but they have really nice one of a kind shopping there.

Rollo is amazing! I think Haileys gonna have to really work hard this week to keep this pack from #1... I am hoping to see Lisa get on the grey she calls Levee...her entire herd is nice though! Cutter handled it well! Cheyenne is a hand! and has paid some dues the last few trips to the finals... glad to see her shine... |

I have been watching Firefly since he was a yearling. I knew than he was going to be a race horse. Amandas Dad Bob raises and trains some really solid horses, The horse that Amanda rides in the grand entry is one of Bobs studs and he is no joke either. After watching how hard Bob and Amanda and her mom have worked to get here. I have a smile from ear to ear. Firefly is a machine and loves a small pen it's going to be a fast NFR. |

Love this!!! I seen her run on TCC in Jan and was like... WHO is that?! so I found her and introduced myself... she is absolutely such a sweet girl.. and you can tell from her posts and posts about her how truly deserving she and her family are... Happy for them!!! Now you got me watching the grand entry LOL |

I was really surprised to see Ivy & J-Lo rock a couple barrels. I think it's a phenomenal pen of horses and ladies this year. It should be fun watching the next 9 nights! |

Cheynne Wimberly mentioned it in her interview with the money barrel. She said it is new ground and they knew it was going to be different after practice. She said they are working on it and it should firm up through out the week. They are hand raking after every girl, I wish they would show that on the TV coverage. |

I thought I read somewhere he was a stud. Regardless she is riding a horse with a pedigree most folks can afford. That is great for everyone to realize even though it helps to start with proven and expensive pedigree's a good horse is a good horse! All the girls were great but that Cheyenne is a hand and a half! |

I hope hes ok too, that man took a hell of a hit a few times in a roll while being hung up. He was out to long in my opinion and then he wanted to walk out on his own that man is tough as nails. I watched the NFR Post Show hopping for a update on him and did get one but they really didnt know much since it was so soon after the bulls, but they did say he had Facial lacerations and more then likey a concussion which we all knew that was going to be the case, so we shall see tonight hopefully they will give us a good report on JB, I even think he'll be riding his bull tonight knowing him, unless hes in the hospital. Prayers its nothing to serious |

Hope you are feeling Better Gail, or you planning on going at all to the NFR? How about Stetson Wright!?!? No matter if you agree with the calls last night or not, that kid is all heart, try and a total badass!
I love watching the Wright Boys, they make things really ramp up during the rough stock ... And happy to see Wade Sundell hanging out with his buddys. Ty Murray watching sitting with the crowd was really cool too. |

The barrel racing has come so far at the NFR but the fact the network still doesn't delve into this aspect tells me we have much further to go. |

Someone explain how Stetgot a score. Both legs were on the same side of the bull and his butt was off the bull's back at 7.9. He did not make the whistle. He was simply hung up for a second. |

They were saying as long as hes got his hand in his wrap/rope he still gets a score. I kinda though the same thing how did he still get a score but after watching that ride a few more times he did have his hand in his wrap/rope still and he did look a bit hung up but the Judges say he rode the 8 seconds so no argument from me I'm no judge, lol.. |

| Probably would have suffered some backlash from the crowd if he didn't score on that 3rd ride. I was thinking the same as above posters .... they didn't spend much time on it... needed to move on I reckon. Oh well.. I'm glad he got to finally make it to the buzzer |

It's plain wrong. If that was the case, every bull rider that gets hung up would get a time. That's cheating. Josh Frost was the only rider that made it to 8. If going down on one knee was cause for a reride in rough stock, everyone at Pendleton would get rerides. Nobody cares when the barrel horses have ground trouble. Wasn't Stetson's fault, but I guess I think he should have manned up and said he didn't make the whistle. I'm super disappointed in the whole thing. |

The thing is that only the judges know what their stopwatchs said. The clock we see running on TV is not the official time. |

Additionally.... the rule IS ..... as long as his feet nevers touches the ground R9.6.2 Requirements for Marking. If rider makes qualified ride with any part of rope in riding hand, he is to be marked |

Rough stock riders get rerides all the time for any little stumble or even if the horse doesn't buck hard enough. It happens at the NFR all the time, yet the timed event boys hardly ever get a rerun. I have seen many times a hung up bull rider get a score as long as his hand is still on his rope and his feet aren't on the ground, where their butt is has never been a factor. I have seen a bull rider still on the bull but his hand is blown out of his rope not get a score just because his hand was not on his rope. Stetson's hand was still in his rope and feet hadn't hit the ground, so scoring him was right according to the rules. |

Exactly, the judges have the stop watch and they say he was there for the 8. The rule that if the animal stumbles and goes to the their knee is a re-ride is a newer rule. Stetson deserved everyone of those re-rides. Do I think it was a 90 point ride, no, but in rodeo you take the gifts because the next call could go the other way. No matter how you look at it that kid is all heart, try and a total bad ass! |

Agreeed!!!!! what we see from sitting on our couches while watching on TV and what the Judges see while standing right there at the NFR with the rough stock are two different things, I'll take the Judges views/calls. The Wright Boys are really all about True Grit!!!! Heck all the Rough Stock riders are tough as Nails and have alot of respect for them all.. |

This is my question too! I thought for sure that Rosa would be her main mount this year. I have seen many videos of Lisa this year on Rosa and it seemed like they had their timing together and she was able to get her past the barrels now. I keep hoping to see her. |

| Ya'll are complaining about rerides etc. I remember a few years ago when someone drugged Cody Ohl's calf and it came out of the chute and just fell down. Somehow he got a rope on the thing and when he picked it up it could not stand. It was very obvious that the calf was drugged and I think a blood test was run after the rodeo and did confirm that. No one offered to give him a new calf. It cost him the world championship. |

I've seen some sloppy steers and calves tripping, hesitating leaving the chute etc etc ... the ropers don't get another shot do they .... its the "luck of the draw" right? Bit odd it's not across the board... I've never heard that story on Cody Ohl ... that's a darn shame especially if there was proof in a blood draw |

I remember that it was in 2013 that happen, I never heard of the calf being drugged and that the blood was drawn to prove it.. I'll ask a friend when I see him this coming week if I can remember, if he knew about that calf being drugged. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | The highlight for me was the gutsy decision Joe Frost made for the re-ride in the 2nd or 3rd round. At least I think that's the one I'm thinking of! He scored in the 70's and I think only one qualified ride had been made up to that point, with only a few left to ride. He opted for a re-ride even though he'd been guaranteed a decent check at that point. He wound up winning the round, scoring a 90 on his re-ride and picked up $33K because there were only 3 qualified rides. I loved it. |
