Hey all!! I knew it would probably happen but my recovered laminitic horse got an abscess once the rain started. Did your normal soaking / wrap for 5 days still didn't break. Took him to vet and we pulled his shoe and sure enough , black grey pus drained out the bottom. Shoer came couple days later and dug it out and modified a shoe to allow it to drain. The near impossible task is trying to keep his feet DRY. He loves to simply stand in the rain , mud. He loves it. I have kind of solved that issue with wrapping his feet in zip lock bags. ( kind of genius and I might patent it. Lolol) It's been two weeks and he is not 3 legged anymore but he is still gimpy. Any other suggestions I can try? Thanks ! |
