I'm having a wonderful time watching the convoy travel to Ottawa.  I sure hope the truckers accomplish raising the thumb off of you to the north!

what is happening

There is a huge convoy of truckers that are set to converge on Ottawa to oust the Prime Minister Trudeau on all of his incredibly debilitating mandates that have shut Canada down.  They're expecting over 1/2 million in Ottawa, but that was at the beginning of the week.    Miraculously Trudeau has contracted Covid and is in "quarantine,"  I think that was Wednesday. 

There is a FB group called Convoy to Ottawa 2022 that is over 700K members from all over the world.  The videos of the Canadian support and the convoy are incredible.  Roads and overpasses are lined with folks supporting them.  The GoFundMe is over 7 million CAD (approx $5.5 mil US) in support for food, lodging, and fuel. 

There are similar groups popping up all over the world.  Austrailia being one, and there is support in the US. 

How convenient he gets exposed to covid right as this is all going down. Good way to hide from what's going on. 

I'm enjoying seeing the convoy stuff on social media, good for them standing up for what they believe in. I think a majority of the world is getting tired of this lockdown, covid bull****!

No matter what "side" of the mandates/vaccines/covid you're on, you have to admit just the magnitute of a group coming together to stand like that is insane. Mandate aside, they just want to continue to be able to do their job. Which is provide for all of us and their families. Probably one of the coolest things my generation will ever see (millenial here). I support them 

Justin called the truckers a "fringe group".  I have to give him credit....that's how those arrogant globalist elites think.  He was being honest.  In his mind, they are a fringe group.  We're about to find out what that fringe group can actually do.  Nothing would make me happier than to see Justin shining shoes in some airport, next to Obama.

There is currently a petition circulating in Canada requesting the Governing General to fire Trudeau.  Apparently this position has the power to oust the PM. Last time I looked the petition was approaching 500,000 signatures. I bet it's at a million by tomorrow. 

I seen something on TikTok of someone trying to get one started to go to DC. I'd love to see America do the same thing. I'd even book a flight to DC to be there to witness it!

They were talking about going to Telegram or Gab to start a group there in case it got deleted.   The lovely FB communists don't want good folks getting together to take down the machine. I would say just keep an eye out and something else will pop up. 

What are they protesting?

They're protesting all of the mandates that Canada has enacted, including making the truckers be vaccinated to cross the border. 

Also....Did you all see that GoFundMe shut down their account that had over 9 million CAD in it, saying it "went against our policies"??  That is complete crap!  They seized the money for a short time, saying if people didn't file a claim that they were going to keep it, but that went over like a lead ballon, so they decided to send refunds.  Boycott GoFundMe for sure. 

Wouldn't the easy solution be to not cross the border then? If a place has a mask mandate and I don't want to wear a mask I don't go there. We plan to go to Canada later this year. If for reason they won't let us cross the border then we won't go. I wouldn't have thought about setting up a go fund me account over it. 

It's about way more than that.   Canada has been slowed to a crawl and people are tired of it.  It's not about the border either.   100% mask mandate, everyone vaccinated mandate, and so much of their industry closed because of other various mandates.  

Oh, they are protesting the bogeyman! Why didn't y'all just say that. Very understandable. Everyone hates the bogeyman!

The trucking industry is the most powerful entity in both countries if they ever organize to legitimately protest something.

So you support any govt telling people that they need vaccine passports in order to do anything?  You support a govt handing out scraps IF they should choose to do so when they control every last aspect of anything?  

That is what this is about.  They're taking away freedoms left and right.  Not only in Canada, but everywhere.   Some choose to accept it (China) and others are tired of it:  Canada, Australia, USA, and a whole list of others. 

Surely you're just trying to provoke a big reaction. I don't for a minute believe you don't know what's going on. It has been a little boring lately, I admit. If not, China is looking like a good place for you to land if being told how to live and what to do is appealing to you instead of being free to make your own decisions and enjoying all life has to offer. 

This is an easy solution, if your ability to earn doesn't depend upon it.  These truck drivers cross the border all the time, hauling goods, including food, between the USA and Canada.  Now they are being told that if they are not vaccinated, even though they are essential, they cannot make their living.  I believe this affects about 1/3 of cross-border truckers.  

The convoy is a visual demonstration that A LOT of Canadians are tired of the lockdowns and mandates.  We want our economies to thrive, not be ground to a halt.  We want to be able to make a living, feed our families and enjoy our lives, without big brother hanging over our heads.  

I would say yes jd&ez is okay with all the government mandates.....aka control.   If there is a boogeyman I would say its all the BS we've been told about covid.........from shut downs, mask, vaccines.  

Support from me!   I also want the mandates to end because I want to come to Canada to hunt soon! I won't get the shot to be able to come though, and I don't have enough time in my life to quarantine for 2 weeks per side.

Where and what do you hunt up here?  My hubby and a friend raise whitetails and are setting up a preserve to hunt on.  But they cannot cross the border to get to the shows down there, so its tough!  At some point, we just have to approach the Vid as Influenza.  If you are vulnerable, stay home, get the annual booster,  wash your hands, etc etc.

We would like to come hunt geese, a friend of ours guides in Saskatawan and another friend goes up to hunt bears.  If we went to Canada for whitetails it would probably be to Shed hunt. ;)   Although Canadian whitetails are pretty cool too, but we have our own farm for those here. 

So now I should leave the country? 

I thought y'all were against protesting in the streets?  I gues it all depends on who's cheese got moved? And most of the protesters are not truckers. I thought y'all were appalled by that too?

Good thing the internet trolls weren't around when we had the polio vaccine. 

But the bigger picture is that we are in a world wide pandemic. We do have some sacrifices to make. I am vaccinated and boosted.  We went to Belieze last fall. It was a required to show your covid passport to enter. WEe knew that. If we had a problem with it then we would have stayed home. 

I don't particyularly like the masks. The restaurants here that still require masks we just don't go there. We are not setting up a protest in the parking lot though. But if I need to go someplace I will follow their rules. I had to see a lady in apartment complex in Owensboro, Ky last week. I thought the sign on the door said masks for unvaccinated so I went in. The manager stopped me and asked if I had a mask. I said I did in the truck. He said it was required. I said I was vaccinated. He said it didn't matter. I went to the truck and got my mask. They have the freedom to require masks. I have the freedom to chose to complay or go somewhere else. 

Vaccinated and boostered does not protect you from the virus, nor does it stop you from being a carrier and spreading it.  I agree on the points, that if you don't like places who have mask mandates, stay home and don't visit those places.  

We are in a pandemic because of media hype.  It seems to me that the places that have the most cases are the areas who are using mask mandates.  Look at CA, WA and NY.  Let nature take its course.  Wash your hands, stay home if sick, etc etc.  Follow general health guidelines.  

The fact that certain states, cities and countries want you to provide a piece of paper, to be able to travel is what is wrong.  Don't compare this vaccine to polio.  That shot worked, there is no denying it.  This one does not.  And for government entities to require a "passport" showing you received a shot that does not work to travel in a free country is wrong. 

For the people that are for the vaccine and multiple boosters, how will you feel when they tell you that they want a kidney from your body and you have no say?

this is what can happen if we keep giving up you rights of free choice. Or they say that you are too old for cancer treatment. Or it will too costly so you can die no matter your age

Or you get 10 years in jail for being part of a peaceful protest. Which is what on the organizers is being threatened with. Her bail was denied today. She's charged with mischief. Canada is in a really bad place right now. I'm fighting tears and terrified by what is taking place right now here. The government voted in an emergency measures act. Bank accounts can be frozen for donating to the cause. 

Or you get 10 years in jail for being part of a peaceful protest. Which is what on the organizers is being threatened with. Her bail was denied today. She's charged with mischief. Canada is in a really bad place right now. I'm fighting tears and terrified by what is taking place right now here. The government voted in an emergency measures act.
