What is your routine after you have your horse injected? How many days off do you give them? How soon do you go back to competing, etc? Just curious as to what everyone else does....

I've  been told to give them 48 hours off after hock injections. After I got my shoulder injected, and realized that wasn't enough time. I needed 72 hours off and multiple shots of whiskey. Injections hurt!

3 days off from riding with bute.

Injections seem to "kick in" in about a week, so I wouldn't make a run any sooner than a week.

I myself have gotten my hip injected .... a lot. I am shot the entire rest of the day, limping around, after I get one. Day 2 varies - sometimes it still bothers me and sometimes I am okay.

I usually do 4 days off, then light work, depending on the horse. But I won't make a run until at least after 7 days....

My vet says 3 days off with bute, then they can go back to light work for a couple days followed by a normal routine after that.  I personally give it longer than that since I have friends and family that get injections and talk about how painful it is. I usually do the 3 days of bute plus two more days off. Then light work for a few days and back to normal conditioning around 7. I have also been told it takes 1-2 weeks to get the full effect so I don't see the point in rushing.
