Sooo does anyone on here use this? I'm considering trying it this year, the product sure has alot of good reviews from many disciplines?? I know it's not FDA approved or vet approved, I'm simply asking people's opinions...I'm looking for a preventative joint maintenance, currently not injecting my horses. I'd like the good/bad, if it's just another waste of $$ like most or all feed thru's are? Thanks in advance, I don't get on this board much!

I don't run anything without it! I was the biggest skeptic before trying it. Will it work for EVERY horse? No, but I don't believe any product will work for every single horse. If it doesn't work, you aren't out a lot of $$, & it won't hurt them.

A couple years ago I decided to try it as a last resort for my older gelding. It made a world of difference in him. If he's running I give him a dose 2 times a month. My sister has a mare that has had some soundness issues, and it helped her, my sister said she can tell when it's time for her montly injection. 

I'm going to put my younger horse, with no issues, on this summer as a preventative, my vet recommended it for him. 

Just like anything else, it works for some and doesn't work for others, but I've had good luck with it.  

Only 1 way to find out. Try it. It's inexpensive enough. I tried a round of summit on my horse before I went with adequan. I have to say, much to my own surprise even.. I think I had more noticeable favorable results with the summit on mine. I haven't been very impressed with the Adequan,  it's OK but definitely not as big as a difference as I was hoping for. Sometimes you just need to go with what works even if it's against the grain. My vet highly recommended the adequan so we tried it but just haven't seen or felt what we were hoping.  The whole FDA thing doesn't phase me in the least. But that's just me. I prefer going with what works for the individual. Not every horse is going to respond to either one. 

I'm using it on my two mares. One is older and has arthritis, I've seen the biggest difference in her. She's so much smoother to ride now, moves out way better. I started her with the loading doses and so far I only have to do once a month injections. The other mare has an off and on lameness I can't quite figure out. I keep her on this to see if it helps her. So far she's been more sound then lame, so I will stick with monthly injections on her. Both of these mares get annual hock injections.

I saw 2 different vets. Had x-rays and joint injections from both vets 9 months apart.  My horse was stiff and just not clocking. I was seriously considereing retiring him. I figured for the price, it was worth a try. This was the best decision that I ever made. There was such a huge change in my horse that I became an independent represenative for Summit after the first 72 hours. My horse still gets a dose every 3 weeks and is happy and clocking again. If you are considering it, go for it!  I will be more than happy to help you if you have any more questions.

I have used it for a couple of years, and yes, I feel it does work. I can tell when he's ready for his next injection each month, and I can tell a couple days later once it has kicked in. 

Does anyone know if this is available in Canada?

Despite having no medical backing, I got a bunch of it for free so decided to try it for my 13 yo gelding who had kissing spine surgery last year and has SI and hock arthritis. I'll be ****ed if it didn't make a difference. He's feeling better than ever before. I'll keep using it.
