My foundered and recovered horse has been off in a left front foot for a while. He was 100% recovered and back to competing in november. He got an abscess that set him back but now all is resolved. Vet says he is prone to flares and just have to watch out for them and treat as necessary. I notice however that on the days he is a little off, all i have to do is feed my other horses first, make him last, and he is quite happy to PRANCE, BUCK, KICK, and feel FRESH, all while being 100% sound when minutes before he was " Uh, my feet hurt". LOL. I'm thinking half of this is in his head. I heard a story once about a horse that would fake lameness to get out of work. This horse is not like that, he LOVES to work!!!!! Yesterday I got home and he was stepping little short again but as soon as he saw me hooking up the trailer he was exicted, SOUND, and running around like gang busters!!!!! What gives? He is going to be the death of me. LOL
