I'm going to purchase a lq trailer in the next little bit. Is it better to get EVERYTHING you could ever want (still not excessive, but all on the wishlist) and a loan, or 90% of what I NEED and buy outright? I haven't had a payment on anything for at least 15 years so not sure how much that will affect my enjoyment? 

I've come to find that even if you get everything on your list, after a few months you'll have a new list of what you'd change about it if you could lol. If it's got your basic needs or most of them, I'd pay outright. Trailers are still kinda high right now, and if they drop you'll end up more upside down with a loan. If it's not going to strap you financially, I'd just pay for it. Or pay what you have and only finance the difference on your wishlist trailer. I always thought I needed a 10' SW with slide & mangers, and I have an 8' SW with no slide and it's only 7' wide so no mangers....& I've come to find it's still more trailer than I need. And I've been able to DIY some things to meet my needs and wants better....but ultimately, I'd ask yourself if you're comfortable being upside down with a loan right now or not given the state of the country & if thats worth it for the length of time you'll have the trailer. I'm not buying anyhting with payments right now, but I know plenty of people still are 

I think it's best to pay outright for the 90%.  You can always add stuff later when you can pay for it.  Payments on things are no good!!

Buy outright. Having a payment stinks especially if you haven't had one in 15 years.  You can always add things. 

I ended up taking a small loan to get the exact trailer I wanted. Got her home today and now I get to go study how to work all the new stuff! 2018 Sundowner 8010 RS.

I am still pulling a 2 horse bumper pull slant  -pretty plain jane, but has a removable rear tack (and I actually find that very handy for using the trailer for different situations) - it also has a decent sized "dressing room" and I can move the saddle rack from the front to the back very easily.

I have 3 horses and a pony, though, so I need to make the jump to something bigger, but I don't want to get rid of the 2 horse lol  plus it's paid off -not as long as you've had everything paid off, but it does feel good.

One thing I do worry about in Texas is all of these nice looking trailers don't seem to have much airflow - AT ALL - it really surprises me and I almost think those horses would do much better in a customized stock trailer -- so that's the hold up for me....and the economy....aaaaargh!

The bigger the trailer and the more decked out. 

The heavier they become and harder to get around with.
