I haven't seen it posted here but Ross passed about 3 weeks ago. Ross was one of those people that was good at most everything he ever did and great at many of them. He was certainly great with horses and especially contesting speed horses. Also a great farmer. Car lover and basketball coach and player.
Ross is known, rightly so, now as the King of pole bending. But Ross was great at everything horse related. He was a true horseman. He is this year's inductee into the Flag Racing Hall of Fame.
But setting aside anything horse related, Ross Carnahan was just a great human being. One of the nicest people you would ever meet. I am truly honored to have been able to call Ross Carnahan a friend.
The world lost a great man! The horse show world lost a giant!

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. I didn't know him, but I had his pole bending VHS tape and watched it over and over and over. He came across as very talented and kind. I'm going to have to look him up, again. :(
