Who has used this for healing and do you believe you seen better results in the healing using Shockwave? Was the healing time period shorter or the same?
Depends on what you're healing. Shockwave is great for removing fluid from tendons. It also has a temporary analgesic affect (worked great on my tennis elbow while it scarred over). You will need multiple (expensive) treatments.
For soft tissue healing I prefer MagnaWave, hands down. It's much more effective.

I didn't do it, but when my last colt cut his deep flexor the vet at WI Equine recommended a shockwave treatment while I was there and then to follow up with PEMF 2-3x a week throughout healing. They told me he'd just be light riding sound so I chose not to spend that money and let him heal on his own for a pasture pet. But thats what the vet said they have the best luck with for tendons/ligaments. The shockwave was $400/session

I had a gelding with an avulsion on his tendon, back leg. Vet recommended shockwave, with a 50% chance of returning to barrel racing. We did 3 sessions, $500 / session (CAD), and light riding working our way back to competition over 6 months, returning to competition. I re-homed him about a year later and shared that we treated him for the avulsion. He vetted 100% sound on that leg. Vet had a hard time believing he was injured. It worked for Yankee.
