I see more and more people switching to only feeding Alfalfa Cubes and Ration Balancer. What are peoples thoughts. Instead of grass hay and commercial grains. Especially with hay being inconsistent and hard to get. Would love opinions especially on barns with multiple horses

I don't think it's the right decision for every barn, but if you can afford it and your horses can eat cubes then go for it. It is technically long stem fiber so shouldn't cause any digestive issues. My only hangup would be alfalfa is very rich hay and high in calcium so you would need to maybe do an alfalfa/timothy blend cube or something else to make sure horses aren't getting too chunky and are getting enough phosphorous.
