Hi Guys, I need saddle pad suggestions. My horse has back issues and is super sensitive. She is hard to fit a saddle to because she is super tiny but mutton withered. Her saddle rolls with the saddle pad I am using now(It is a 1/2 inch Pro Choice Smb Air Ride). I am looking at getting her a Tacktical 1 inch felt pad by Fallon Taylor. Ideas?

First off, I would make sure the saddle fits. If it does fit, going to a thicker pad is not going to help things. What girth do you use? In my experience a neoprene roper girth can help along with a nonslip pad. Reinsman makes nice ones although they are usually an inch thick.

I have confirmed, after trying many different ones, that the saddle I am using now does fit. I have a neoprene girth but it is a bit big on her. I want to get her the contoured professionals choice neoprene ventech one. Do you guys like the contoured ones or should I go with something more plain? Do you find that the felt pads are pretty good for not slipping?

I previously had her in a 6 3/4 inch gullet circle y that did not fit her right. Sold that one and switched ot using my sister's coriente which really seems to fit well. She has alot of pain and tension in her lumbar. I have had a chiro out which helped temporarily but doesnt seem to last because of other isssues.

Have you x-rayed her back to see if there is anything contributing to the back pain? (Kissing Spine) Check for Ulcers and your saddle fit..Just rule out anything that could be causing her pain..As for pads, get you a good one that provides clearance over the spine. Either a CSI or SK Spinal Relief.
