I got a load of third cutting orchard grass. It is nice quality and I had it tested by equi analytical. My horse was gradually switched over to it but still getting loose poop and messy butt and tail from it. Is there anything I can give him to firm it up? Probiotics? Flax?

I have good results with Probios in the tube. You can get it at tractor supply. They do have a cattle and one for horses. Get the correct one!

I'm dealing with the same thing with our supply of perennial peanut hay this year. Its so nice! And my white (of course) gelding has liquid poop all over butt crack, tail, and legs each day. To the point I'm putting Desitin on his crack after I clean him up. LOL

I'm currently trying Bio-Sponge and it is helping a little so far. On day 3. He's already on psyllium and Assure Guard for digestive issues diagnosed years ago.

No option to change his hay due to those digestive issues, so hoping he adjusts because it is messy!

Yessss his butt and tail are a mess. I had no option the only hay left was third cut and I usually get first cutting for him. So he's stuck with it. Only other thing I was thinking to do is buy some other hay and feed myabe every other day to see if they might help clear it up some. He's just sitting for the winter so he sure doesn't need anything extra calorie wise

but I will order forco!
