Just got back from the Vet and Im off for 3-4 months.  My mare had a noticable head bob to the right, no swelling no heat or digital pulse no reaction to hoof tester.  She blocked sound on the outside of the foot.

He diagnosed her with a bone bruise to the side bonein her front foot.  Not side bone disease.  he took 5 xrays and he said they were all very clean and conformationally perfect, shoeing was great.  Nothing else he could see with an x ray.  He said really just rest and equioxx was the treatment.  I have heard bone bruises take a long time to heal.  Can you tell me your experiences as far as time, and was it a lingering thing or once it was healed that was it etc.

I have no idea how she got it, I ran her 2 weeks ago and she was great but I starting noticing it about a week ago.  maybe during the run or running in the pasture who knows...

TIA

Magnetic bell boot at nite. MagnaWave or Bemer 3 times per week til it's healed. I'd also ask the vet about putting Voltarin or Surpass  om that side of the foot

Ask your vet about osphos . Fixed my mare up in about 14 days and she has been 100% ever since

Did you look into Tildren?  My vet is wanting to do Tildren as opposed to Osphos and give an additional 2 months off.  He said he could get Tildren more concentrated in the foot by doing an Infusion He is also putting in another medicine in the coffin joint not a steriod, something that sounds like Amipride maybe?

I just cant afford an MRI so hoping this will help!  Also looking at arim pad for a few months and maybe accuscope.  Hope it helps!
