Have a 10yo QH gelding. Tested positive for Lyme (not chronic) and negative for anaplasmosis. Repeat right hind leg swelling 3 times now..vet doesn't want to treat, and I'm frustrated...

That's my plan..there's a lack of good vets around my area. No performance horse vets. I guess I need to do more research on Lyme..I didn't know there was chronic/not chronic..

I know they treat dogs and cats with doxycycline and they said it cures them. That is what my vet said. I didn't ask about horses but my dog got rid of it cause he tested negative after treatment

Thats what my friend used to treat her horse as well. GREAT success
