Does anyone use adequan for older horses? I was told by a couple people that Adequan mainly only works for growing horses, pretty much 3 and a under. I have an almost 11 year old and 21 year old. Would it be worth the money or should I go with an injectable glucosamine or poly g? TIA!

I use adaquan on my 10 year old.My vet suggested it because she is a barrel horse. So far my 25, 24 and my 18 yr olds aren't showing any signs of arthritis but is they do Im going to try osteo max. A friend of mine uses it on her horse and she sees a big difference.

I have used adequan for years and never heard it was just for younger horses.  It is pricey but I feel you see great results.

My older horse is turning 29 this year. Hes gotten adequan multiple times up to last spring. He retired from barrels last year after bleeding at a race and he deserves to not run and owes me nothing. But he has been checked by multiple vets and never needed specific injections, just adequan for his overall body and *knock on wood* has never had an injury. He has been a barrel horse since 7/8 years old.

I like polyglycan better for older horses.
