I am interested in the mullen mouthpiece. Please explain where it fits in in serverness.Like between a broken twice or broken three times. And exactly what it is used for.It has no slide on the side action, so I am curious what it would be best for, A ratey horse or a horse with no rate, no stop or a horse with excellent stop. Thanks

I run my good horse in a mullen oring combo (only I took off the nose peice.) I love it it keeps his shoulders up undernieth him more and brings his whole body around instead of just his nose as some horses in snaffles are prone to do. I think its all in how broke your horse is too. Mine doesn't care for broken mouth peices at all. Mullens are very easy on a horses mouth (though any bit in the wrong hands can be harsh) I know alot of cutters who start their colts in a short shanked mullen or transition from a snaffle to a mullen real quick to introduce them to the solid mouth peices they show em in. I like em on a horse with alot of rate that tend s to drop shoulders, and depends onteh shanks for stop, Mines on oring cheeks so it has very little stop, but my horse is a big stopped so I don't need all that but a shanked Mullen mouth has a little more whoa.
