My mare is very broke, great handle and good stop. Just ready to look at the barrels. Mike would probably be pretty good. I haven't seen him start one, but I have seen a few that he currently has and he is successful with them. You have to ask yourself if you can ride behind a man though. If you can then go for it, if not then I'll give you some contacts. |

Location: Hockley, Texas | I usually go off inches, but it doesn't matter, it's just something I'm familiar with. Make sure they change in relation to each other. Don't want to stretch the picture. |

Location: TX | Since you are down south, have you considered Kay Blandford. I've ridden horses she trained and have absolutely no complaints, only good things to say. Her sister is also great with starting them also.
Dave Stinson in Aubrey is also on the top of my list, the horses come back very light in the face and he'll also give an honest evaluation.
Trainers are everywhere, but the good ones are few between. Good luck with your search. |

Location: In the box... | From everything I have heard and dealt with Shea--she seems like a pretty top hand. I don't know if Jess trains outside horses or not, but watching her horses work and watching her, I'd bet you couldn't go wrong there either. Then there is always Sheridan. She has impressed us beyond our expectations. So, you are lucky in the fact that there are several within driving distance to try until you feel comfortable. |
