| Has anyone ever done acupuncture? My dad was in an accident about 3 years ago. To make a long story short L&I screwed us and it took my dad 2 years to get his surgery . Well the surgery isn't working very well because of all the scar tissue that developed from waiting so long (he had his disk fused). I've heard great things about acupuncture but i've never acutally met anyone who's done it. Any suggestion would really help. Thank you

Location: Carpenter, WY | I've had both accupuncture and accupressure done and can't say enought good things. I have back trouble and have treatments done as needed. It is so nice not to hurt for awhile. You don't realize how much you just get used to hurting all the time until you get relief. I've also done the reflexology to for sinus trouble. |

| Don't get me wrong by this question. My dad isn't a beliver in acupuncture, do you have to belive in it?  |

Location: Carpenter, WY | No you don't have to believe in it....but you do have to know how to just relax..kind of a mind over body thing. Accupressure is a kick the first time. You lay there and he/she will just rub a little spot and walk away for 15 min or so and you're laying there thinking "what gives with this". Pretty soon he comes back and rubs another little spot and before you know it you're as limp as a dead cat and the feeling of euphoria is like natural high. |

A couple years ago, I had a doctor send me to a "Chronic Pain Clinic". When I got there, I was shocked to find out that is was an accupunture place. I did not believe in it, actually thought it was pretty stupid. But, since I was there I went through with it. The whole time thinking there is no way I am going to feel better with a bunch of needles sticking out of my head. I wasn't even there for my head! Anyway, on the third visit, I literally was laying there and felt all the pain drain from my body. I can only say that I believe now. And, really what is there to lose? Have your dad try it. It may just surprise you.

Location: in texas now! | My question is how painful is it? Needles don't scare me to bad . I think I have a pinched nerve in my neck and I know I have a cracked vertebrae in my lower back. Man it would be nice not to have to stretch everything out before getting out of bed in the morning. |

Location: Carpenter, WY | There is no pain involved. He may rub a spot totally unassociated with your problem area to relieve tension (does that make sense?) in accupressure and in the accupuncture the feeling of the needles is minimal. Usually they will have a fountain or mood music going to help you relax and if you focus on that and not what they are actually doing you'll be better off and the treatments will be more effective. If you can focus on making a good barrel run you won't have ANY problems not focusing on the actual prodedure and put your mind on something else. |

Location: OK, KS STATE LINE | My sister used it and it done wonders for her. She used 2 different Drs, one in Wichita was great and really helped her the other one didnt help and caused her lots of pain while doing the treatment. I would get one that was recommended. I would like to try it but dont know of any in our area but the one she used and had no luck with. |
