Location: Washington State | I see allot of you determine how far you are going to travel on the price of fuel. I am in Washington and it is running about $1.85 a gallon for unleaded. I am curious as to the cost in some of your areas?

Im thinking we are either gonna have to start splitting alot of traveling expenses or do what Melissa said and stay home and get gassed. |

| I saw diesel for $1.69 in town, sometimes it's a nickel cheaper on the interstate. I am going to HAVE to find a gas buddy even to go to the weekly jackpots just 50 miles away. Sheesh! I would really like to know what is driving the high fuel prices. To me this is very detrimental to the economy because the cost of transporting goods gets passed on to the consumer in higher prices. We need some relief! I feel guilty for griping when I read that Californians are paying over $2!!! |

Location: Barnesville, GA | I don't have an auxillary tank, but GA diesel is reasonable, compared to elsewhere @ mid 1.50's high 1.40's. We are lucky, to be paying that much money for such a trashy, (literally) petroleum(gross) byproduct. My truck / trailer drink diesel like its nothing, while it gets driven 80+ and is chunky @ 23k Lbs, 9mpg is nothing to brag on. The tell tale of the auxillary is going somewhere new and you don't know good or bad places to stop for fuel, or if you just run locally, you could, "wait" out the higher prices in hopes that when the "big" tank runs dry, the demand will be less and production back up, hence lower prices. Well, I don't know much, but what I do know, I'll be glad to share! |

Location: Arkansas | Subject: Oil Shortage Explained A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in America. Well, there's a very simple answer......Nobody bothered to check the oil!! We just didn't know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical. Our oil is in Alaska, Texas, California, and Oklahoma.
Our dipsticks are in Washington DC.

Location: Where it is too cold, SD | LOL about the dipsticks in D.C. My thoughts are that most in D.C. don't drive and use the bus services or what have you. They don't know what it is to pull up to the tank and see $1.89. I went to Pierre, SD for a meeting on Monday and I see gas is higher east river a few pennies. I hear the prices will keep climbing........not what I want to hear when I commute 50 miles each day for work. To think of wanting to load up the trailer for a barrel race.......I don't think I could afford it. |

Location: North Texas | Hear in Texas it is about $1.59-$1.64 for diesel. It takes about $40 to fill up my truck and I can go around 500-600 miles on one tank. I get around 18-22 mpg. I have a 03 Dodge Dually. They are wonderful on fuel millage. Still though, I think fuel is wayyyyyy tooooooo highhhhhhhhh! |

We were in SD & NE this past week and filled up a few times with it. I don't know why they don't produce more of that... good for the american farmers bad for the forigen oil companies (wait I just awnsered my own question..) those dipsticks in D.C. |
