Location: Displaced Iowegian | Just an idea..............would it be possible to have a "sticky" thread at the top where each person could post pictures (or description) of their stolen tack and THEIR location of theft all on one thread????
It would make it a lot easier to check to see if you have spotted a stolen saddle, bridle, breast collar, etc.........

Location: Where if you don't like the weather...wait 5 mins! | This is a picture I re-sized for a gal in Texas that had this saddle stolen off her horse's back while tied to her trailer. It's pretty eye catching. She had her phone number and everything to contact her if you find it. I'll go copy and paste it on here.
Here's what her first post said.

Last night at a barrel race at the Circle T Arena in Hamilton, Texas my Tammy Key Bob Marshall saddle was stolen right off my horses back. I had him tied to the trailer still saddled while I was running my second horse. When I came back to the trailer after I ran my second horse my saddle was gone with the saddle blanket, bridle, and whip that was on the saddle horn all laying at his feet. I am attaching a photo and PLEASE if anyone happens to see it somewhere call me. Location: Texas | this was just sent to me in email
David & Cassie Moseley’s barn was broken into early this morning (a neighbor saw someone leaving the property around 6:30a.m.). They had about 10 – 12 trophy roping saddles stolen (no barrel…all roping). Their place is on FM 521 in Matagorda County, just across the Brazoria County line. They have alerted pawn shops in Port Lavaca, Victoria, Angleton, etc. but would also like to spread the word. I am sure she will be making an itemized list of the saddles with more detail and when that happens, she will pass it on. I do know that one of the saddles stolen was the saddle she won for rodeo queen from the Brazoria County Fair Association (that would be a unique one and easy to spot). If everyone could please keep an eye out, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!! ----- Kristi Schiller Houston, TX

Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | This picture was taken on our honeymoon in 2000. The saddle was stolen from Lebanon, Oregon in February of 2007. This is a 16" ranch-style saddle made by Vincent Saddlery out of Redmond, Oregon. The stamp is up underneath on the treel. Along with this saddle was a 15" Crates Lynn McKenzie barrel saddle. Rough-out seat and fenders, basket-weave tooling, wrapped (because it was torn) saddle horn and a name plate on the cantle that said "Jordan".
There was much, much more stolen - all our pads, bridles, sports boots, etc. - you name it! But that ranch saddle is the one thing we have always wanted to get back. I can make the pic bigger if that helps....

Location: Mississippi | GREAT IDEA!!!!! We had an Ammerman trophy saddle stolen from Raymond, Ms. in the spring of this year. It was the saddle that "Flit To Kill" won for the AQHA Hi Point Nationa lChampionship in 1997. Our other saddles were left and only that one was taken. Lots and lots of tooling and a "one of a kind" saddle. I believe it could be around south Mississippi or south Louisiana. Please be on the look out for it. It was kinda special to us. |

| This isn't mine but I told the detective who recently found some things of mine that I'd help him out..
This is the stolen saddle I talked with you about yesterday.
It's a 13" barrel saddle. Custom made at the TDC Unit in Huntsville in 2007. The saddle has normal wear and tear on it. Star patterned conchos, with two of the conchos located on the rear skirt having the owner's initials "LSF" on them. If you could please pass this email around to your friends that attend rodeo events and have them do the same.
Thank you,
Daniel Barrett
Any information would be greatly appreciated, and will be kept confidential.
Please contact Detective Daniel Barrett with the Walker County Sheriff's Department.

Location: I don't really know anymore... | We had all of our saddles stolen out of our tack room last night sometime between 10:30 and 7:00 this morning. They took 7 saddles, a Tod Slone and Cutter Collection saddle pad, and several bridles that they carried out in a Prefessional's Choice tote bag. It had "Honey" written on one of the horses. I'm attaching photos of 2 of the saddles. They are as follows: 1: Sherry Cervi Martin barrel saddle, dark leather, fully tooled except for the jockey, rope star conchos with turqouise dots in the conchos, did not have either girth on it, snap is broken on hoof pick holder, adjustable rigging 2. Circle Y barrel saddle, light brown, with roughout jockeys and fenders, faded red seat, rawhide horn and rawhide is coing loose in spots, silver laced cantle, has "Indian" tooling on it which is painted feathers and colored arrows, it has a set of aluminum trophy stirrups from 2008 Florida Parishes Arena barrel series 3.Fully tooled Hereford or Tex Tan roping saddle, has ACTRA Finals on jockey and High Money Champion 2000 on fenders, had a basket weave pulling collar on it, and has TEX TAN on back off billet, horn has a burned place in it from a rope and a nylon rope under the rubber on the horn, has a classic equine girth on it and a red cross on the underside between the two girths 4.older tooled roping saddle with rubber on the horn, I think it's a Big Horn brand, fenders are stamped Jerry Earls Saddle Series or something close to that and a date and we think the date is aound 1989 to early 1990's, it had a basket weave pulling collar on it, fenders were cut down at the top so they could beshortened and part of the lettering is gone The other 3 saddles are just older riding saddles. One of them is a Belfountaine and another one is a hard seated saddle with a saddle strings, it has one stirrup tied on with hay string and if you shake it, it sounds like it has rocks in it. If anyone has information please contact me: Katy Edwards 601-551-2733 or Jason Edwards 601-431-1670 or you can contact the MS Agriculture & Livestock Theft Bureau Investigator Lee Barkdull 601-942-7523 |
