I contacted best ever pads sent them a few pics of my barrel horse to see what they recommend. They recommend the fleesar which is a fleece pad on the bottom to help with my horse who has a slight sway back. I am concerned that the fleece. Is going to be HOT in the summer? They said if i wentwith a wool bottom its possible i would have dry spots? Im stuck because i dont know which to pick am worried about the fleece being hot and staying wet. I do also go on long trail rides so i want something hat will keep him dry! Please help!
I can't see how the fleece would "not cause dry spots but the wool would" ... that doesn't make sense. Now - they advertise that their "wool" pads are 100% wool & they are not, so yes - you are getting synthetic in them, & that would cause more heat. I don't think their fleece ones are 100% wool/sheep fleece either, so can't see how that would be any better??

I haven't used this actual brand of pads, but the only thing I can see being better about it is, some fleece pads are piled real deep I guess you could say, really fluffy, so that might fill in some low spots on a horse's back better than wool or felt would if the wool or felt is a little harder. I've had some really nice soft felt and I had one given to me that I could knock on and it sounded like knocking on a door lol. Threw THAT in the trash.

And regardless of advertisements of every pad I've ever ever tried, when I ride, ALL my horse's backs are wet. I've never had a pad keep a horse's back dry. I've had some be cooler than others I think but never really dry.
Yea i agree thats why i am scratching the best ever pads and going for 5 star! I haven't heard a bad thing about their pads!!! Now i just have to figure out if i want the contour or regular pad and the thickness lol!
