I have ridden in both and love my Crown C.  I liked the Pozzi OK but like my Crown C a lot more.

I voted Pozzi because the Crown C made my hips hurt.....I'd suggest looking into the new FX3 by Martin they keep you seated right...at least mine does...

Tough question, IMO.  Love, love, love my Crown C, but it's for sale.  Gelding has been off and it's just way too big for him now.  He is a very standup-ish turner and I have never once felt like I need something more out of the saddle.  Put the exact same saddle on his full sister and it was awful.  She turned so hard That I never could keep up with her.  Didn't help at all that the saddle didn't fit her properly (she would need a bigger gullet and flatter bars if you were to match a Martin on her) so I don't want to say anything bad about the Crown C.  Took her to Philip at the Double J booth and it was an extremely rare tree that fit for her.  He let me run her in the Pozzi he had in that tree.... It just happened to be a 13.5 seat when I need a 14.5.  My run was still awful with the Pozzi, but that was more because it didn't fit me.  I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but I'm still on the fence myself.

After riding both....I'd go with the Pozzi.  Martins seem to cause a lot of people to get their feet behind them, not going to be any fun on a hard turner.

I vote Pozzi. I traded my crown c for one. The crown c got be forward in the turns and the Pozzi boy can I sit down and keep with him! Can't wait to run in it this summer!

Keep in mind the crown c keeps you up in your crotch more and the Pozzi lets you sit back and ride your pockets, but also lets you get up and out. The fx3 from what I've heard would be the better comparison to a Pozzi

It all depends on your riding style what saddle will work for you.

If you get a Martin crown c or fx get your horses fitted before buying.

With the crown c saddles they can customize a saddle perfect for your horse including gullet width and a flat bar. I have one who was impossible to fit the crown c i have for her it is my dream saddle.

My own experience if people are getting too far forward they may have too small of a saddle, if people are getting left behind saddle is too big

Also martin has a loaner program so you can try a saddle before buying to ensure you get the perfect fit for both you and your horse.

Aa Crown C will pitch you forward because it has a higher ground seat in it.  A Pozzi sits you on your pockets which was stated above because the ground seat was designed to be flatter.  If you ride the Pozzi #10 tree the cantle is a little straighter and holds you more firmly.  So if you have a hard turner I would definately go with a Pozzi.   And yes if you have the wrong size seat that also makes a difference in your body position.

It's going to be personal preference based on how you ride. Try one or both out before making a decision.

The Crown C centers you. If you lack any kind of core strength or are riding a too small seat, then it might pitch you forward, but I haven't had that experience at all.  I feel very secure, in the middle of my horse, and have ridden some nasty colt moves without a problem, as well as a horse setting up hard and dumping on his front end in a run.  I ride with my feet under me, not in a chair seat with my feet pushed out front.  No issues with my feet getting behind me at all.  It's my go-to saddle if I need security to get after one doing stupid things.

I havent ridden a Pozzi, so I don't know how they compare.  The huge swells and cantle keep me from wanting to try it.  I have heard the seats fit big for their size tho, so that might be one reason some were happier with it.

I have a Crown C. I love it. I WAS a sit on your pockets rider so it took sometime to adjust. For my particular horse it works because you really have to push and be forward with him. I wish I could have both saddles. Someone also mentioned core strength with the crown C. It is true. Its making my core very strong.

Crown C is my choice. I own two and love them. I stay centered over my horse and feel very secure.  I like my feet underneath me and the Crown C puts them there.

I have 3 horses I ride in a crown c, and I have never been pitched forward, never had my feet behind me. But I have been left behind after leaving the barrel (exchanged the saddle for a smaller seat)

There are no absolutes in the horse industry, but to say the crown c WILL pitch you forward is not true with all people and saddles.

If you have a flat backed horse in a regular tree when the horse turns, the saddle can rock forward throwing you forward. This is why it is important for a proper fitting saddle for the horse.

Depends on your riding style, and how your horse is built, Pozzis will fit better on certian horses and then Your Martins will fit better then a Pozzi on a different horse, just depend's. And seat size matters, so get your right seat size. I have both the Martin and Pozzi and love them both.

Southtx, I'd love for you to elaborate on that, especially what type horses each is more likely to fit! I'm currently in the market for another saddle, and I love the looks of the Double J saddles (including Pozzi, but not sure budget will allow for one), but my main concern is fit. The saddle that fits my mare great is full qh bars, but it throws me forward (very ratey style horse) and doesn't fit my youngster. While I know my young one is going to fill out more, he definitely is more running/racey looking and MUCH narrower than my mare. I did a cardboard cut out on him and he is currently a perfect semi-qh bars and my old, old saddle is that, but it is not a barrel saddle, it is a roper and if I go more than a trot I get thrown right off the back end of it. It might have 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch cantle on it, ha-ha.

I have a really hard turner, which saddle would be best?

I have ridden in both and both are nice saddles
I can get up better in the Crown C, however the Pozzi has a deeper more secure seat for a horse that tends to throw you around

I tend to ride more push style horses so I like the Crown C better

For hard turner I think the Pozzi

I would say which ever fits your horse best! I had my sights set on a Lynn Mckenzie nueva, but it did not fit my gelding. About 30 saddles later we finally found one that fit him good. The saddle that fits him is not my number one choice brand or style. But he is comfy.

Do you know anyone that has any of your choices that you could try?

Im so glad you posted this.  I am trying to decide which one I should go with also.  I have had a Crown C, but sold it because it didn't fit the horse I originally bought it for.  I have a cactus Cj, and I can't stay with a horse for the life of me. Seems I'm getting the back door every run, and I am in farily good shape, with "decent" core strength.  I am hoping once my mare heals up, I can go try both. I love how the crown c sat me, I felt I could sit up and hustle a horse, and never got my feet out of place.  BUT I also had it right after I had my daughter, so not sure if I liked it because I could "flop around" and know I wasn't going to fall off..

I love the fit for both me and my horse on the Pozzi.
The only thing I don't like is the leather is like cardboard! They charge a premium price and IMO the quality of leather is sure not premium.
