A lot of people swear by their BOT products and I’m considering getting a sheet and some other products for my mare to put on before and after rides.
My question is, being that I live in the South and it gets HOT, would BOT do more harm than good if used in the summertime since it’s thermal? Would it be better to go with PHT instead?

I have BOT leg gear, once summer comes I’ll back off how long I use it for. I’m using it now as I let him up - he’s always had a tendency to hold some fluid on his legs, so far so good using the BOT!
I’ve stuck to my PHT sheet because he doesn’t get warm under it and I don’t have to worry about that. Would love to be able to upgrade it to a magnacu in the future.

We stick to PHT/Magnacu most of the time. We'll use the BOT on super cold days to also help warm up the muscles. But its just way too much heat to use in the summer. It doesnt take much to fry a horses tendons and i dont want to take that risk or have to worry about it. The PHT works better for my guys so its just easier to tosss that on and go.

I use my BOT year around and have never had a problem! I live in Michigan so our summers get hot but not usualoly terribly hot. We have some 90+ days but I just lessen the time used. I use the no bows, knee boots, sheet and neck cover almost daily. On the hot days I will hose my horse off before using them or loading them on the trailer to go somewhere. I've never had a horse feel too hot with it on. I have had alittle sweat mark under the blanket up by the shoulders where the soilid black material is not the mesh, but its been minimal and I've taken it right off and thats only happened a few times. OR I may only use it for a half hour in the shade before I run if its real hot (I never put it on in the hot beating sun and leave them tied to the trailer for hours) and then once it cools off at night I will put it back on for awhile. I've used BOT for about 8 years or so now and have had great luck with it.

I have the BOT quick wraps for my horses. While I don't live down south...... I do use them very sparingly in the summer when it is hot out. If it is too hot, then I may choose to not use them at all.

I am clearing out my Rambo Ionics if anyone is interested. People love using these in the summer because they don't become a heating pad. PM me if interested.
