shaunar - 2013-11-19 10:45 AM The only update I have to this story is that they do believe it was the missing family, the Jamisons, but it has not been confirmed yet.  They also state that the OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation) does not believe foul play was involved in their deaths.  This I do not understand - unless maybe they were struck by lightning?

I haven't seen where they have stated that they didn't believe it was foul play...I know that initially they had said that there was "no sign of foul play" when they were searching around the truck and in the area.

Rachel - the story reported on kotv.com on November 18 stated in the opening paragraph:

LATIMER COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation says investigators don't believe foul play was involved in the deaths of three people whose remains were found in Latimer County over the weekend.

I was scratching my head and the only thing I could think of was either lightning or - I hate to think of it - a wild animal attack, ETA: Or possible murder-suicide, but I don't know if they would classify murder-suicide as foul play or not.

That seems a little off....especially since they were reported to have been found in a "shallow grave".

There's no telling whether we will ever know what really happened.

True, we may not ever know.  I also realize that early news reports can be inaccurate and contradictory.  Maybe after the medical examiner examines them (in a year or so?) we will know more.

I thought the Oklahoma remains were just skeletal remains. I think the shallow grave was how the California family was found just recently.

That article makes me think that they poisoned themselves or somehow committed suicide. If someone killed them, the money would've been gone.

It made sound like they were not trusting of anyone...... carrying large sums of money??? Maybe they didn't put any money in the bank & that is why they had such a large amount of money with them... Maybe their entire savings or something?  I don't know maybe they were hoping to pay cash for the land.  Sounds like they had some troubled times leading up to this.

I remember that. Wasn't she a barrel racer? Would love an update on that story, one with a happy ending.

I don't think so. I don't remember anything about her being a barrel racer. I could be wrong, but just don't remember anything like that.
