I had to take myself to the unemployment off and set through the class. There were 3 other people there. 2 older, professionally dressed ladies who had been let go after years with their companies. They were probably just as embarrassed as I was to be there. And as far as collecting benefits, it's not worth it. You can't survive on that money. I claimed 2 weeks with one day of work and it paid less than $400. I'd much rather work!
If that poor gentleman was getting "proof" of job contacts, it was for himself in case he was ever audited. The unemployment office just asks how many contacts you made Not entirely true.........each state is different and some states DO require you to turn in proof that you have looked for a job and none was available at that location.
His page was FULL, of all the places he had stopped. Now I couldn't read the details on it but I did see a lot of "Nos" for application available. But I could easily tell he had about 20 businesses on the list. That shows me a person who is trying. I wish I could have found him later. I won't forget his face or his truck though and will speak to him if I see him again.
The managers were NOT happy campers. I didn't have to talk to them long. The young lady was not there this morning (too early). I swear the one manager was about to cry when I told her what happened. They are both older ladies and this is a small small town, so everybody knows everybody. It most likely was a gentleman they both knew.
I don't know what actions they will take, but I am confident they will take some action. |

Some may not agree but that girl should lose HER job and see how it feels to have to go from place to place trying to find a job!! Hire that man instead!
