Location: De Berry, Tx | Has anyone else experienced this? My saddle was pinching my gelding. He is 16 hh with tall withers with atrophy behind the shoulder blade. My daughter had a crown c with a 9 inch gullet and said it fit and he had room to fill out. I bought one and rode it 4 times. Each time my hips would hurt sometimes for a day or so. I sent it back and got an 8 inch hoping it will be the best of both worlds. I haven't put it on him because it has been yucky since I got it. Has any one else had this issue? Are there any other brands that may fit us both better? |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | If the saddle is to wide in the twist {seat, jockey area } it will make my hips hurt really bad, and I think the wider the gullet the wider the twist. Thats why I like my Pozzi's I have a wide fit for my big fella, and the twist works for me. |

| I haven't had problems with the crown c, but I cannot last 30 seconds in a triple creek saddle without my hips hurting.
So I can see it not being a fit for you, with that being said maybe try a Martin instead. |

Have you looked into the Pozzi's wide fit by Double J? |

Location: East Texas | My hips have always hurt easily and can lock up sometimes. It's genetic since my mother has the same problem. My Crown C's have never hurt my hips and i have a 9 1/2 and 10 gullet. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I have a Crown C too and love this saddle, but its not super wide its the standred tree and its never hurt my hips, I'm tall so I think that this does help. But there has been a few saddles that I did own and holy cow some made me feel like I was doing splits sitting in them. I really like my Pozzi's and Crown c's. |

Location: GA | My hips feel better with a crown c and I have really bad hips. That being said I don't have anything over a 7" gullet for any of my horses regardless their size. I'm not a follower of the wider gullet theory. My seat sizes range from a 13.5, 14 and 14.5. |

Location: Kansas | It must be different for each person. I bought one and yes it made me uncomfortable in one ride and my knees too. I ride in a Maleta Brown by Crates and it has spoiled me. My second favorite saddle is a Coats. I have tried them all and these by far are my favorite. I didn't like the way a Caldwell rode and most love those! And I absolutely hate a treeless saddle! Would rather not ride. |

I have not. My daughter has a pozzi that is about 7 years old and it throws her forward so I havent even looked at those. I did think about a lynn mckenzie. The bad part is I have a brand new 15 inch crown c I dont know 8f I can get my money back out of if I dont like it. |

Any saddle will make my knees, shins, and ankles just kill if they have metal stirrups. The rawhide stirrups will also make them sore but not nearly as bad. I have nettles on everything and no pain. I know alot of the martins come wiht metal stirrups, if so, I would try other stirrups before changing saddles. |
