Outwest - 2013-11-24 6:50 PM I agree about being Stephanie when I grow up too!!

You should listen to the audio book of the series sometime!!   I've missed a few of the older ones, might have to break down and read a book; usually listen when I'm out riding!

I liked the Kate Buckholder Series by Linda Castillo, Amish murder mysteries.

Another Linda Castillo fan!  Sixpatches and I are always chatting about the Kate Burkholder books.  Have you read any of her back list?  They are more romance and are a little cheesy, but Overkill is good.  I think it was her last romance before she started the Kate series.  It has a short barrel racing scene that is kind of fun.  Linda has run barrels before so she wrote it well!
Can't believe we have to wait until July for the next one too!

I know!! I'm hoping she'll release another Kindle short story :-)  It's so long to wait between books!

Another short story would help with the long wait

rach.k - 2013-11-25 9:00 AM Has anyone read the Lonesome Dove books? Worth reading or is the movie just as good? (Can't believe I just said that, but c'mon- it's LONESOME DOVE!) I love Wicked & the Hunger Games Trilogy; I really like Twilight when I read those too! I personally really like George MacDonald! He is technically a children's author although not all of his works are children's books, but I love even those supposedly written for kids! My favorite was "At the Back of the North Wind," (Which I believe is free on Kindle).

Yes, Lonesome Dove is even better than the movie! Didn't think that was possible, but it is. Lol. It goes into a lot more detail and has some things that weren't in the movie. Well worth the read!

Well.. Larry McMurtry won a Pulitzer for Lonesome Dove.... I did read "The Streets of Laredo".. the sequel. both are worth reading...

I'm a big Tom Clancy fan. He makes 007 (James Bond) look pretty small... and he is closer to the truth. I recommend reading 'Without Remorse' first.. Then follow it with 'Executive Orders' then 'The Bear and the Dragon'...
..another good spy book written by an author named Roger Hall.. quite old and about the OSS..' You're Stepping on my Cloak and Dagger".. very funny...

:::::as I look around to make sure nobody I know is looking:::: I recommend the author, ..::::looking around again::: Danielle Steel.... She spins a great yarn around a ... (gasp...puke) love story..

For those people that want to read one (1) good SiFy... Battlefield Earth... Best I ever ran across...

For obscure books... Omar, A Police Dog.. Ranger, Sea Dog of the Royal Mounted.. and of course the newer best stuff about animals... 'The Art Of Driving In The Rain'... A Dog's Purpose and the sequel.. 'A Dog's Journey'

For the greatest story ever told... Read "The Bible"....

I read 'Being George Washington'  it was very good.  So was 'Killing Lincoln'
Right now I am reading 'The Art of Being Unmistakeable'
On my list to Read:
'Life Inside the Bubble'
'Washington's Secret Six'
and a third one that the name just totally excaped me.  I have the sample on my Kindle.  It has to do with the corruption in DC.
Not so long ago, my favorites were by Tami Hoag.
I haven't changed, but I know I'm not the same.

Komet do you have a address you can recieve mail to? I'd be happy to send you some books you might enjoy. If you'd like to have some that is. You don't have to worry about returning them. Just share with someone else that might enjoy them.

I read a lot and quickly. I have a Kindle and read lots of the free books. I like a variety of things-no horror though. I have read the Plum books multiple times, the Jack Reacher series, most of Karin Slaughter's book. I love Karen Kingsbury as well.
