I am used to having a horse with a well sprung rib cage. My colt is more 'slab' sided. He is a healthy weight, a bit heavy for summer, but perfect for winter... but the weight doesnt seem to get over his rib cage as much as my other guy. You cant see his ribs, but there is not much fat cover over them.. not as much as I would like to see in winter anyways.

I am wondering if it is because it is a lack of muscle, or if being built different they just carry the weight differently?

I am not overly worried about it... more of a curious question.
