| Just curious as to what people give their senior horse.
I've got a coming 22 year old that just seems like he's . . well, old. LOL. He doesn't seem to have much pep or any energy anymore. He's retired and has been. Every now and then he'll roll and get up and run and buck but not very often.
Do you give them red cell or what, if anything?
He's on a THE muscle mass with senior and joint - which has really helped, but hoping to get him to have some energy and pep in his step again. . .If you even can, or is that just something you have to deal with with age? |

| My 26 going on 27 year old mare is on straight alfalfa 24/7 has 5 acres to do whatever she pleases, gets 6 quarts of Purina senior a day with THE muscle mass with joint/ Arthritis and breather ( she has copd) when I put her on THE she started bucking and chasing the chickens and goats and she's an old school western pleasure horse, I normally just ride her bareback with a halter, she actually was leaning on my hands the other day and running! She's not fast by any means but boy all mighty she had more go than whoa lol. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | My 31 (soon to be 32) runs, bucks, plays several times a week. he is always bright eyed and bushy tailed. He is plump with great top cover and muscle definition. He hates all senior feeds, but we can get him to eat it as about 1/3 of his total grain ration. The remainder of his ration is a 1/3 oats and 1/3 12% locally milled sweet feed. His hay is prairie and/or bermuda grass hay. He gets no suppliments.
I think he is a product of long term good care, great genetics and LUCK.

| He's on Pennefield Senior, free choice O/A block (he's a baby sitter with the babies, so I don't want them on free choice A), beet pulp, electrolytes, Muscle Mass, with free choice salt and loose mineral.
Just wondering what others had theirs on - he's the oldest I've ever owned and just want to make sure I'm doing what is best for him.
He had been awesome until he developed Lymes. Now he looks his age. . . at least to me, my neighbors swear he isn't 21.
