Who uses them? What brand do you like? I really want to try some but I feel like all of the ones I've looked at are very stiff and I'm afraid they won't be comfortable in my hand.
I mean barrel reins...not split.

Go to edandmartha.com and check out thier leather reins. They have such a great feel I own about 4 sets on my everyday bits and two others hanging for spares in the trailer.

I like the ones Marlene McRae sells at world champion designs. Lots of feel.

I second the Ed & Martha wright leather reins. I LOVED mine from day one. They have never felt stiff and are a good weight. Well worth the $$

Dennis Moreland used to own Cowboy Tack and went bankrupt by over extending himself ... He started off making split harness leather reins out of the trunk of his car at cuttings .... great product quality .. learn how to use these one handed with your fingers
He is now DM TACK and everything he sez about choosing a leather rein is true ...

Ed and Martha's reins are really feel-y and I like he reins I've gotten from Martin....they are a little stiffer but I prefer them that way.

I love the Martin reins and in a close second are my Ed Wright reins. It depends on the bit I use which reins I like the best to be honest. Love my Ed reins with my Ed bits and for bits like the loomis I like my Martins.

I have a pair of leather German Martingale reins that I got from L&W Bits ages ago and I love them. I use them everyday. Good feel and I love how easily adjustable they are/

I love my Ed Wright reins, they do not get slick like lots of leather reins do in our humidity down here.
I ordered some leather reins with knots from The Tack Stop for my kids. They were more expensive than Eds reins but my kids like knots and I refuse to use nylon on my horses heads. One $800 surgery to repair a badly cut tongue is enough for me.

Can someone post a picture of their Ed and Martha reins please? I can't find very many good pictures and I'm interested in them as well!

has anyone tried the leather laced reins that "The Rein Man" makes? I was looking at his 3/4 and 1" pair.

I have a pair of the laced ones and some split reins and I love them. They are a nice weight and have a really good feel to them. I plan on ordering some more. He's super easy to deal with and a really nice man. And I like being able to talk to the person who is actually making the reins because you can tell him specifically what you want and he will make it for you. Definitely recommend him!
