What does it matter HOW someone can afford something?? It's solely, 110% their decision. Unless they are stealing money out of your checkbook to buy the horse why does it affect your life?!?
If you really feel like it's your business to know how they can afford the horse and why they bought it then simply ask them. No one on here is going to know the answer expect for the people you're questioning.
Can I really sell my kidney? LOL True story!! Well I hope they didn't sell a FEW kidneys because they would either A ) be dead or B ) be a serial killer? haha. C - Kidney broker connecting interested individuals for a commission.
The rumor was mom and dad each sold one of theirs but didn't have enough money yet so the kids had to donate one of theirs too. Kids have to pull their weight too ya know! |

that was the goal with my high school horse, we paid $15,000 not $30,000..but would have had we the funds. I was going to high school rodeo on him in 2006 and 2007 but he died Jan 26, 2006. He wasn't insured and we paid $7500 in colic surgery bills. there went HS and College rodeo. I did end up with another nice horse at the end of college but decided just to buy my permit and not worry about college rodeo. |

| Sweetheart here is some advice:
First off,I know that there are other people who feel this way about spending money on a horse.
BUT this way of thinking will only hinder you and hold you back.
When I was a kid growing up I lived with a crazy lady on 50 acres. She had about 30 horses...and pretty much would take just about anything horse wise. I lived with this lady for a few years-and she would bash and bash people who spent money on horses. So my first impression of people who spent money on horses was that they were crazy-and didn't have any horsemanship skills so they had to "buy" them.
BAHAHAHA-I have come a long way since then.... What helped me realize and grow was when a dear friend of mine (who also was a parent figure to me) said that if you had money to spend on a horse, wouldn't you? Who are we to bash them?
She was and is right. Now have I spent $30,000? No, but if I had the money I would, and I have spent enough where I could have gone out and bought a car in cash or a few other things.
I will leave you with this last piece of advice:

Be in a competition with yourself-and no one else. If you are worrying about what someone else spends on a horse you are holding yourself back.
IMO winning cannot be bought-people who win work for it.

| I'm not gonna lie, if I myself had enough money or my parents had enough to offer me that, I probably wouldn't turn down a $30,000 horse! I'm really cheap, like really cheap. Always finding the bargains, deals, save my money, but when it comes to horses it's a little bit of a different story |

Location: /ARKANSAS | I would spend that much to get what I wanted, with what I know now, wow I would have a ball. I would finance one if I were younger, what ever it took. I did spend 12,000 for my dream of a horse, ran him for 5 years, love of my life, went blind. Now I have put my heart on another, I raised him and still have about 8 thousand in him, they just don't come cheap. The price tag does not define the horse or rider... |

| Just because someone can dump a pile of money on horse... well, that doesn't mean they can get the horse rode.
Figures mean nothing if the jockeying ability isn't there.
The one thing I do know is that you can only take care of Self so don't worry about what others do (or spend). Do the best with the tools YOU have. We are all born with different circumstances so be happy for what you have bescause no matter how bad you think you might have it, there will always be someone out there that has it worse. |
