I can lope for 5 mins and he is a dripping mess. Real calm horse, it's not from internal nerves. Anyone know if there is anything I can do for him?

My first thought also is what are you feeding him? Second thought is how is he bred?

If it is a white frothy sweat you need to get him in shape. If it is a clean sweat... don't worry. Be glad that he does sweat. Be sure to leave access to salt and give electrolytes daily. As long as his pee is clear to slight yellow your horse is in good heath and not anything to worry about.

get him on an electrolyte supplement and don't stress. My boy is the same way and once I got him on some electrolytes it helped a lot

Make sure that he has access to free choice salt, make sure he is drinking enough water. Feed him electrolytes and make sure that he is in shape. If he keeps doing this for longer than a month (as long as he is being conditioned correctly) then you should consult the vet about it.

If your horse is out of shape 5 mins is a long time for him to be just lopeing, are you lopeing circles?
