Can some one explain what the different effect of the simplicity I is versus the simplicity II? They looks very similar other than the complete ring on the II.

I don't own one, I'd like to find one to buy. I just found a pic of it online.

I don't know the difference, and have never rode with the Simplicity I, but I have some of the II and they have been a nice little bit.

I have a simplicity 1 somewhere in my stash of bits.

The biggest difference between the 2 that you have pictured is, of course, the mouthpiece. I would think you would get a smoother slide with the 2nd one.

Running Roan has the 2 on sale, if I'm not mistaken.

Here you go..

I love both of the simplicity bits. I have all the different mouth pieces for both bits. Call Phil Goostree he can get you ever which one you want. Carol Goostree is the one that designed the bits. I love all her bits. I probably have over 40 pairs of her bits.

What feels different about them to you? I love my simplicity I... Why would you grab your II to ride in instead?

The simplicity2 and simplicity have a different feel especially if you add a curb whether it be leather or chain etc. The simplicity has a tendency to get one on the front end a little bit and it also travel on the gag quicker for a faster response. The simplicity 2 gives the horse a little more time to respond before it travels all the way up and it has a better balance. Both can be ridden with or without a curb of your choice. I like the simplicity without a curb and simplicity 2 with a curb. I like the smooth snaffle and chain in the simplicity. The chain snaffle and 3 piece with the dogbone in the simplicity 2
best. These are only my opinions others my think different.
Oops forgot to say why I would switch. If the horse is feeling a little heavy in front end usually is why I switch off. I love them all so I switch up till I find the one that makes the horse the happiest and feels the best to me.

I like the action of my simplicity I.... but, would like the same action with a bit more weight to the bit... Simplicity II might work for that.
