Location: My own little world :) | I know that he has been discussed on here in previous threads but I just wanted to ask you all what you thought about him? I am really considering breeding to him but want to know what others think. In my opinion he is a great up and coming stallion as he is only 7 years old I believe.
Does anyone know a lot about him? Like his attitude? Size? Can someone tell me more about his pedigree...good or bad?
Thanks for your input!!! |

I don't know...he made it to the NFR and the little bit that I have read it seems like he did decent at futurities. |

Location: Texas! | He isn't very big and looks on the finer boned side so just something to consider when chosing a mare to breed to him. |

He's not very big, but I wouldn't say he is fine boned.
He is very good minded |

Location: TX | I am one of the mcleods good friends & slick is awesome. Great personality, super relaxed all the time, & doesn't act like a stud. No he isn't super tall, I would say 15 hands. But he isn't fine boned at all, IMO he has very good bone. He is a super cool horse with obviously a lot of talent! |

Location: Texas! | I have never seen him in person but could have sworn I had also heard that about his bone (and thought it when watching video) but of course cameras can be deceiving and people who've seen him in person disagree so just ignore me lol |

Location: Texas | He did more than Decent at futurities and cleaned house the ANHA shootout as a 4YO- consistently running 16.9s and 17.0s on a standard. Kim Ulbricht campaigned him as a 4YO and did most of his training. I believe he spent a short time with Stephan Boutin as a 2 or 3 year oldβ¦He used to do work with Kim if I am not mistaken. Kim told me he had him for a short time and then he was sent to her.
He placed at the Gonzales Wrapn3 futurity that had a ton of runners and he also won the open average there.. I think there were 400 runners in the open. He placed 7th in the finals at the OFD Futurity as well⦠I know I am missing more of his futurity wins.
Then after a lay off he came back with Jennifer Sharp and won the junior barrels World Champion title at AQHA Worldβ¦
Then Michele got on him in spring of 2013 and lit the rodeo world on fire and qualified for the NFR missing all the big building rodeos in the winter.
He's won major races and titles with THREE different jockeys- talk about a special horse!
We are breeding a mare to him this year! We paid for him before he was in the top 15, but I had a feeling he was going to make the NFR and was going to regret not breeding to him when he made it.

Location: Kansas (but Great Lakes member since 1978) | I got to know Slick very well at Fort Madison, Iowa. I parked almost next to him for several days and he was absolutely incredibly quiet and drop dead beautiful. He was quiet around my colt and around the mare he was hauling with. I watched him a lot during those few days and got to know Michelle very well and I can tell you that if I had the money I'd breed to him in a minute. My brood mares are all retired as I don't need any more horses⦠I'm old. I don't see anything about him I don't like and I've been in the rodeo and horse raising business for over 40 years. |

| I really want to breed my FWF daughter to him. Just because I can come up with some really cool names! Seriously, I think he is really nice and I'm scared I won't be able to afford him in a couple years! |

Both do their job. Well. Temperament. Both have gone down the rodeo road, held up to it and thrived -- they have the "mind". They are both athletes. Both are smart, trainable horses -- that's apparent from their records. And they are attractive, too. And they have the pedigree behind them. |

Location: Texas | I really like him! I too am considering him for the future. I loved seeing him for 10 runs. Quiet, consistant, tanasity, love his size. I don't care as much about his pedigree as I do his performance, and attitude. |

The older I become, the more important a horse's attitude is to me.... the more important it is that I "enjoy" my horses. |
