I got a little bay filly a few months ago for a steal at the local sale, bought her grade but the breeder is helping me get the papers on her...slowly lol. Anyways last time I talked to him I found out that she is actually a Delta Flyer granddaughter on top (which I knew when I bought her) and she is out of a mare who is Delta Flyer x Pacific Bailey bred. I know quite a bit on Delta Flyer, and a little on Pacific Bailey but I don't run across a lot of those around here. What do you guys think of this cross?

I haven't had a Delta Flyer or a Pacific Bailey but I do have a daughter of Delta Olena and I wouldn't trade her for the world. She's earned her spot to be here until she dies.

I rode a Pacific Bailey granddaughter for a while in her older years (16+). OH MY GOSH could that mare peel paint off a barrel. Super sane, but by the time I got my hands on her, she was set in her ways with a couple bad habits- I attribute those to training. That has been my only experience hands on, but I have heard great things from others who have them.

I have/had a daughter, grand-daughters/g-sons, great-granddaughters of Pacific Bailey and have loved them all.  Really like that bloodline.

I have had good experiences but I have heard stories that were not good, but that will be with any bloodline because you have to factor in the dam's side as well. And PB was bred to about anything no matter what the mare was. On his breeding record, 1 season he had over 200 foals registered if I remember right.  I did have all that printed off at one time from AQHA.

I remember seeing somewhere that PB was the #1 most prolific AQHA sire. That might have changed in recent years with more AI and shipped semen, but the point is still that he lived a long time and had a LOT of offspring. That means a lot of people liked them.

I would think your filly has every chance of being a really nice horse. The Delta's are known for being trainable but maybe not always gorgeous. The PB's are fast and very good looking. Some people will claim they are hard headed and some people will argue that. She's got a good chance to have all the good stuff!

Lol well this filly isnt gorgeous by any means! Shes no train wreak, but her head is a tad on the ugly side and her throat latch is a little thick
