How does the bit work exactly? Is it pretty gentle? I have my 10 year old in it. It doesnt have a place for a curb chain, so I kinda rigged one, doesnt actually come up on her chin like needed, but it holds the bit from flopping around. She does well in it, breaks at the pole with very light touch.

Just wondering others opinions about it, please.
