Location: Iowa, LA | Yes! My hormones levels were all low and my doctor put me on creams but they are not working so well! I made an appointment with an endocrinologist to hopefully get it all figured out. |

Location: Freestone TX | My doctor put me on low dose estrogen. It helps, but does not eliminate, the night sweats. I also put a box fan blowing across the bed. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | You can try black cohosh and Magnesium citrate 400 mg . take for 3 months steady then decide if it's not for you. |

| I was on birth control pills that caused me to be sweaty all night and it was ruining my sleep. The magnesium supplement did help a little but black cohosh, iCool, Remifemin, etc none of it helped at all. Finally got taken off the pills and the night sweats went away immediately. |

| I've been on estrogen pills for over ten years-tried stopping but night sweats come back. I, too, was waking up 10-15 times a night sweating-not much of a problem during the day. I'm going to try and stop again, but will not put up with night sweats either. |

| Go to www.happyhormonecottage.com I went there a year and a half ago and they have helped me soo much....it is not a gimmic ....if nothing else there is alot of info on their website for what happens to your body as you go thru menopause....i was having hot flashes, depressed, irritable, etc etc I am sooo much better now it is not funny....even my husband and teenage kids can definitely tell a huge difference! I feel like my old self. After the hormonal testing, i discovered i was way low in progesterone....and even tho my estrogen wasnt that high it was completely out of balance with my progesterone. I am on a cream that is prescription strength ...not the type you get at health food store( tried those) and some supplements like fish oil, magnesium, and one that helps my adrenal glands...they were completely worn out. Im pretty sure they can mail the testing materials to you if you live in another state. It is done via urine strips. I HIGHLY recommend it.. Hope this helps....I understand what you are going thru and it is tough! |

Location: Work hard and Play hard | Did any of you gain some weight with your hot flashes? I just have my ovaries left and I am starting to get those nasty hot flashes. I am not getting very much sleep at all and I am almost 50 years old. I only get them at night and I keep my heater down real low but that isn't helping at all . It is miserable. |

Location: MN | Yep, I'm gaining weight and it is in the form of belly fat. I have been thin my whole life up to id point and I hate it!
I have turned down the heat in our bedroom. I used to love a warm room with a big heavy warm quilt on the bed, now it is a sheet and light weight blanket. I wake up burning up and I have to sit up to cool off for a few minutes, and then flip my pillow over to have a cool side to put my head on. This helps a lot flipping the pillow over.
In the winter I would sit around in a sweatshirt and covered up with blanket. Now it is a t shirt and a blanket close by for when I do feel cold.
Mother Nature as a weird sense of humor with women's bodies for our whole life. I have talked to one lady who said she had hot flashes for 10 yrs, lord please not me!
