Here's a little back history. I have ALWAYS used Pro Choice, I love them, have tried other brands and hated them, BUT I have a gelding who has been off for the last year with a suspensory tear (I bought him with the tear not knowing it so I have no idea how he got hurt). He should be ready to lightly start being worked and legged back up in July. My tax return is coming and well I wanna blow it all on new tack haha! I love this horse dearly and even if he can never race again he's a lifer. I am going to buy him new boots. I have heard a lot of hoopla about the iconoclast, so I'm coming on here to ask for opinions.

I've always been taught and read that you always wrap the horses leg to the inside, but I see that the iconoclast pulls from the inside and outside? Does anyone run or have a horse that has had this type of injury? What type of boots have you used to help keep your horse safe from hopefully re-tearing their suspensory.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but it's his front right that was injured.

Iconoclast is amazing I have not a single bad thing to say about them. The material is great, the design makes sense and the customer service is fantastic!

I do believe this boot could help your horse recover the right way.

Traditional boots like ProChoice, they have one sling bringing the tendon to the inside as we have always been taught to wrap. BUT if you could wrap and keep the tendon in the center where its intended to be, wouldnt you want that? The first sling brings it to the one side, and the other brings it back to the center giving it the 360 degrees of support.
The boot isnt form fitted, so when you put the boot on it will fit to your own horse, unlike a few that can leave an air pocket, less support, and it doesnt leave room for half the arena sand/dirt to sit and irritate the horses legs. The right size of boot will fit the horses leg properly, give the best support, and not let any dirt in. Youll see a huge difference! Make sure if you buy, that you measure your horses fetlock as they suggest so you get the right size. :)

Check out iconoclasts website, even call the owner if you want answers straight from "the horses mouth"

" Iconoclast® Orthopedic/Rehabilitation Boots were designed by horse trainers and leading veterinarians who were unsatisfied with the performance of every other support boot in the market place. The equine leg needs support and protection against the daily rigors of extreme physical activities and there has not been a boot that adequately meets those demands until now.

The Iconoclast® Orthopedic/Rehabilitation Boot is a working recovery boot for horses that have sustained an injury or are presenting signs of soreness in their suspensories and sesamoids. Working in conjunction with our patented Double Sling Strap is our patented Orthopedic Wedge™ that is positioned behind the distal pastern. The soft ergonomically designed Orthopedic Wedge™ provides additional vertical support to the suspensories by dispersing the impact shock from each hoof strike. Combining the Orthopedic Wedge™ with the Double Sling Strap creates a boot that ensures 360 degree support and protection." That is directly off the website. :)
I hope this helps you!

Iconoclast.

Or the Bar F rehab boots I think they're called. The extra support strap is removable so you can have extra support on the leg that needs it, but just regular boot support on the other.

Iconoclast all the way!
I have a mare with a suspensory tear and I can say safely that ProChoice boots only aggravated my mare's leg. They are so bulky even when fitted correctly. Couple of the girls in my barn use the Iconoclast boots and love them. Because I'm broke I use Tough-1s which work great for my mare for the past year.
