I have a GGS, he's cool and super tough. I've beard from others that they really like the Royals Diligents horses too. WYO Quarter Horses has 18 RD daughters in their broodmare band. If they are anything like this mare, I know why! Here's his mare, the dam to my gelding. She's his top producer every year, but I have to tell you, this colt -- and most of her others -- are tough. That will be good someday, I'm sure He also has a stud that is out of the same sire. I think he is just beautiful! And, a dream to be around! Good luck with your mare! Nice! What is her dis position like? Without being too confusing...my FIL and his brother utilize each other's breeding stock. One of them purchased a stud by RD. My FIL bred his favorite mare to him, and this mare is the result. She's the herd boss, stand-offish, really protective of her babies. I don't think she was ever broke to ride. My FIL's original mare was tough to crack, but he swears she had the biggest heart of any horse. Most of her babies, even grandbabies, have been buckers (mine included). She was not RD, so I'm guessing the personality is from the mares side.
This is my FIL's current stud (by their RD son, out of a different mare). His personality is fantastic! Super friendly, easy to be around, just awesome! He's a coool horse! Hope your mare is like him!
eta: hope I didn't completely confuse you! lol!

Location: Washington. (The DRY side.) | This mare a the sweetest thing. Hard to get pictures because she wants to be with you. Follows like a dog. Bottom of the pecking order, she IS the newest but she doesn't care if she gets bossed around. Any pics of the rest of that stud? |

He's on there, but I can't get allbreed to work to provide the link?? His name is Blue Dink. A couple of his foals went to Venezuela a few years ago...so there are some RD's flipping steers over there. I wanted to make a barrel horse out of mine, but lost her at 6 weeks to pneumonia. Otherwise, I've only been "lucky" enough to pry this current colt away from my FIL...yea, the bucker. lol! Still keeping my fingers crossed he turns out... Keep us posted about your pretty mare!!! Sure hope you enjoy her! |
